We are seeking a highly organized and proactive
Senior Lab Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys solving complex administrative and operational challenges. In this role, you will partner with scientific leadership, laboratories, and administrative stakeholders to streamline operations, coordinate high-impact initiatives, manage projects, and ensure the resources, processes, and infrastructure are in place to advance cutting-edge research.
Job Responsibilities:Scientific Program Support and Administrative Analysis- Develops and advises on administrative requirements for a complex scientific organization.
- Works with management to plan organizational needs for additional positions/and or equipment/supplies.
- Identifies and implements efficiency improvements by analyzing and streamlining cumbersome or time-consuming manual administrative processes.
- Identifies problem areas, analyzes situations, recommends viable solutions and prepares reports.
Administrative Support- Budget analysis and coordination
- Providing, securing and making recommendations for resources or services needed to manage and run laboratories and other organizations.
- Human resources needs, facilities assistance, property/space management, and safety administration for scientific resources.
- General administrative responsibilities and assistance (travel, purchasing, etc.)
- Coordinate, triage and filter requests
- Review paperwork for accuracy and fidelity to internal SOPs and broader regulations
- Liaise with lab staff on a regular basis to discuss priorities and requests, and gather and provide feedback
- Support compiling reports, facilitating data calls, coordinating programs, events and activities
- Onboarding/offboarding IRP staff
- Serve as a liaison between the Scientific Director's office, Administrative Officers, and labs
Project and Task Management- Assist with the development, initiation, and execution of new project initiatives.
- Track administrative action items, provide deadline reminders, and maintain relevant spreadsheets.
- Develop milestones, budgets, and funding plans for projects.
Required Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree required;
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
• Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a related field;
• Knowledge of Federal policies, procedures, and regulations;
• Knowledge of preparing NIH travel orders using the NBS/CGE travel system;
• Knowledge of NIH procurement processes;
• Skill in data analysis and Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
• Excellent analytical, organizational, time, and project management skills;
• Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail;
• A proven record of self-motivated achievements will be a positive asset.
$110,000 - $135,000 a year
