Job Summary
The Senior Java Quality Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive quality engineering strategies and scalable test automation solutions for web applications, APIs, databases, and distributed systems. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, test automation frameworks, test management, and CI/CD practices. This position will collaborate with product, development, business, and DevOps teams to ensure application quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases for web applications, APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
• Lead end-to-end test management activities, including test planning, estimation, execution, defect tracking, reporting, and release validation.
• Independently design test strategies and automation suites for new products and applications.
• Develop and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Java, Spring Boot, RestAssured, Playwright, Karate, Cucumber, and TestNG.
• Design automation solutions for functional, integration, regression, API, UI, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop automated API testing solutions using RestAssured, Karate, and other modern testing frameworks.
• Perform database testing and validation using SQL and PL/SQL.
• Develop and execute complex queries and validate database objects, including views and packages.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and DevOps teams to understand requirements and ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Utilize Jira to support Agile delivery, test management, and defect tracking activities.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Docker, and SonarQube.
• Leverage Azure or AWS cloud platforms to support testing activities across cloud-native and distributed environments.
• Troubleshoot testing and automation issues across multiple layers of the technology stack.
• Create and maintain test documentation, test reports, automation architecture documents, and quality metrics.
• Continuously improve automation coverage, testing efficiency, and overall release quality.

Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience working with Agile development methodologies and Jira.
• 5+ years of experience testing distributed applications across multiple layers of the technology stack.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Test Management lifecycle.
• 6+ years of experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, or PostgreSQL.
• Strong experience with SQL and PL/SQL, including complex queries, views, packages, and related database objects.
• 6+ years of test automation design, development, and execution experience using frameworks such as RestAssured, Playwright, Karate, Cucumber, and TestNG.
• 6+ years of strong programming experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience designing test strategies and test automation suites independently for new products or applications.
• 5+ years of experience with continuous integration and deployment technologies such as GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, and SonarQube.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud technologies.
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of functional, integration, regression, API, UI, and end-to-end testing.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional product, business, development, and DevOps teams.

Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Experience working with Stock Plan Services or Brokerage applications.
