ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a Senior IT Security Specialist to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This role supports a federal financial regulatory agency responsible for maintaining stability and public confidence in the nation’s financial system. The work involves activities related to the oversight, management, and resolution of failing or failed financial institutions, ensuring operational readiness, informed decision‑making, and continuity of critical financial services.
Work Location: This role is based in Arlington, VA or Dallas, TX and would require you to reside close to either of these cities.
Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:
- The Senior IT Security Specialist provides, with minimal direction, analysis, implementation, and evaluation of current and proposed security initiatives.
- Performs various activities to support Access Control.
- Activities include maintaining and monitoring user access, monitoring access to the network, responding to audit requests, and performing periodic application reviews, data analyses and reporting projects.
- Perform the assigned tasks requiring specialized technical or analytical expertise.
- Creating reports, manuals, policies, procedures, and presentations of varying levels of complexity, identifying and recommending resolution of processing problems.
- Additional responsibilities include conducting reviews and audits, gathering facts, analyzing data, and preparing synopsis comparing alternatives in terms of cost, time, availability of tools and personnel, recommending a course of actions.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 10 years experience or a High School diploma/equivalent and 14 years of experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required: must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- 10 years of experience with NIST RMF.
- 5 years of experience in with identity and access management and/or system log analysis.
- Knowledge of emerging and current technology products and services that address business needs and enhances the quality of work.
- Must have a DoD 8570.1 IAM Level III certification prior to starting work and throughout the entire period of performance such as:
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
- GSLC (GIAC Security Leadership Certification)
- CCISO (Certified Chief Information Security Officer)
- Experience implementing complex technical security solutions.
- Experience directing and reviewing the activities of teams performing security assessment of applications, IT Resources, and outsourced services.
- Ability to conduct analysis of operations and methods to improve quality and effectiveness.
- Knowledge of specialized security tools and methodologies such as SailPoint, ServiceNow, Imperva, and other approved tools.
- Experience developing presentations and presenting to clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
