National Grid is hiring an Senior IT Project Support Analyst for our IT Electric portfolio team in Waltham, MA. This role operates under a hybrid working model. Hybrid work expectations are subject to business needs and company policy. Job Purpose National Grid is implementing its Electric Sector Modernization Plan (ESMP) to enable an electric network that supports the Commonwealth's climate, clean energy, and equity goals and delivers the fair, affordable, and clean energy transition for all our customers and communities. The IT Project Support Analyst ESMP is part of the US IT Electric portfolio team and will serve as the operational and analytical partner enabling successful delivery of outcomes through data-driven decision-making, financial stewardship, and continuous process improvement. Reporting to the Technology Delivery Manager, this role leverages advanced analytics, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities to provide actionable insights across financial performance, resource management, and compliance. The analyst acts as a trusted advisor to delivery leadership, ensuring informed decisions are made using reliable data and forward-looking intelligence. Key Accountabilities Financial and Funding Management: Support forecasting, variance analysis, spend optimization, funding risk identification, vendor cost analysis, and budget scenario modeling to help leaders understand financial performance and take timely corrective action. Resource and Capacity Planning: Analyze resource demand, workforce capacity, contractor versus employee mix, skill gaps, and prioritization needs to support effective value stream planning and delivery execution. Governance and Compliance: Track adherence to project governance, funding approvals, process requirements, audit readiness, regulatory traceability, and remediation activities to help ensure investments remain compliant and well-controlled. Support federal grant, audit, and compliance activities for DOE and other externally funded programs, including reporting, reimbursement submissions, evidence collection, asset tracking, regulatory documentation, record retention, and maintenance of auditable project records.AI and Automation Enablement: Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve reporting quality, streamline workflows, and use tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, and other approved digital capabilities to generate insights and increase team capacity. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, finance, data analytics, project management, information technology, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. Experience in project analysis, project controls, finance, resource planning, governance, business operations, or portfolio support preferred. Experience supporting federally funded programs, regulatory compliance activities, audits, grant administration, or financial controls is preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, evaluate risks, and develop practical recommendations. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required; experience with Power BI, Power Platform, Microsoft Copilot, SAP, Maximo, Jira, or other project and reporting tools preferred. Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities in a demanding environment. Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence without authority, and partner across teams to drive outcomes.
