Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Project Manager (Senior PM) will lead complex, multi-stakeholder technology projects with a focus on payments, infrastructure, Azure cloud services, and application development/integration. The Senior PM will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, vendor and stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget in a dynamic, high-demand environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage large-scale, complex technology projects from initiation through closure, balancing scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including internal resources, external vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and budgets.
  • Oversee infrastructure and cloud-related initiatives (especially Azure), as well as applications development, integration, and deployment projects.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and performance to ensure delivery of agreed outcomes.
  • Manage projects delivered by external vendors using agile methodologies, ensuring alignment to internal standards, clear scope definition, and effective vendor oversight.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality project status reports and executive-level communications tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Facilitate project governance processes, including steering committees and stakeholder meetings.
  • Collaborate with technical leads, architects, and operational teams to ensure alignment between business requirements and technical solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and competing demands.
  • Execute projects effectively in hybrid delivery environments, blending agile and traditional approaches to meet project and organizational needs.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Educational background, preferably in the fields of computer science, engineering for technical project managers, project management or business administration.
  • 10+ years progressive experience working as a project manager.
  • Strong experience working with external vendors, managing contracts, SLAs, and deliverables.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, agile, and hybrid delivery methodologies - PMP or scrum master certification an asset.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence tools.
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Experience in financial services and technology.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a busy, high-stakes environment.
