About the Role

The Senior IT Development Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of enterprise software solutions that support business objectives and technology strategy. This role provides technical leadership across development teams, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with architectural standards and modern software engineering practices.

Operating at the intersection of application development, architecture, and delivery leadership, the Senior IT Development Lead drives the successful execution of technology initiatives while promoting Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in the Microsoft technology stack with proven leadership experience overseeing development teams and enterprise application delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development teams in the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise applications.
  • Serve as a technical leader responsible for application architecture, integration strategies, and adoption of development best practices.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of applications, including coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and production support activities.
  • Establish priorities, manage project timelines, and ensure successful delivery aligned with business objectives and IT strategy.
  • Guide the adoption of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver effective technology solutions.
  • Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements, modernization initiatives, and new technology solutions.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, performance, and scalability of supported applications.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in resolving complex technical challenges, production incidents, and system issues.
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, technical specifications, solution designs, and development standards.
  • Lead Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, code reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate development efforts across global teams, vendors, and technology partners to ensure successful project execution.
  • Mentor and support developers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and professional development opportunities.


Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • Eight (8)+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on the Microsoft technology stack.
  • Proven experience leading development teams and delivering enterprise-scale applications.
  • Experience working in Agile and Scrum-based software delivery environments.
  • Experience supporting production systems and resolving complex technical issues.

Technical Expertise:
  • Strong experience with C#, .NET Framework, .NET 6/8+, and modern web application development.
  • Experience developing applications using ASP.NET (Web Forms and MVC) and RESTful APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
  • Knowledge of application architecture, systems integration, and software development best practices.

Skills & Capabilities:
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Blazor and modern UI frameworks.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation technologies such as ARM templates or Terraform.
  • Familiarity with microservices architectures and containerization technologies.
  • Exposure to DevSecOps practices and secure software development standards.


Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
