Role Purpose

The Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of manufacturing and engineering software systems that enable efficient production, process optimization, and data-driven decision making. This role will expand the team's capability by assuming ownership of existing applications and supporting new initiatives focused on manufacturing automation, fiber optimization, image processing, and system integration. Working collaboratively across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, and IT, the successful candidate will help modernize software platforms, improve operational performance, and support the continued growth of advanced manufacturing technologies.

Key responsibilities

Design, development, implementation and support of business and manufacturing software processes, functions, and systems in manufacturing environment.

This includes:
  • Design, development, test and support of Engineering and data analysis systems written in VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#.
  • Creating and optimizing image processing algorithms.
  • Supporting optical equipment - high speed video cameras, video cameras' API, quality control benches and measurement equipment.
  • Converting legacy ASP and VB applications to new ASP.NET Core, C#.
  • Integration of MES systems with SAP ERP.
  • Work closely together across other organizations (Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Quality, and IT) in a manufacturing plant
  • Provide off-hours support for existing software and equipment based on rotation


Required skills

  • Bachelor's or master's in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Optics or similar.
  • 2+ years of software development experience in manufacturing, engineering design or scientific research fields.
  • Extensive knowledge of .NET ecosystem (VB, C#)
  • Experience in manufacturing IT or Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of signal and image processing algorithms.
  • Experience developing/supporting imaging systems
  • Very good knowledge of SQL databases e.g. Oracle, MSSQL Server
  • Knowledge of data analysis, business modelling, optimization algorithms.
  • Self-motivated and well organized
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across multiple regions.
  • Process oriented and customer focused.
  • Mechanically inclined


Desired skills

  • Understanding Principles of Optics, Chemistry, Life Science or similar
  • Some knowledge of SAP ERP is desirable.
  • Some knowledge of Python and cloud application development is desirable.
  • Good English skills, in verbal and written form.

The range for this position is $93,046.00 - $127,938.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
