A Brief Overview
The Senior IS Project Manager is responsible for the timely, budget effective, completion of major projects for the Information Systems Department. They coordinate the implementation with the other IS teams (applications, security, and infrastructure) along with the requesting department and ensure project status information is maintained and communicated.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Business, Healthcare, Information Systems. Required
- Master's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- 4 years Project management experience in a complex environment. Required
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in an effective manner at meetings and via reporting tools like OneNote. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple complex projects at different phases in a self-directed manner. (Required proficiency)
- Proven ability to apply critical thinking with natural curiosity to distill detailed functional requirements for technology solutions based on input from business users. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to lead discussions to ensure effective use of team member time while ensuring needed tasks are completed and decisions are made. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) - PMI Preferred
What you will do
- Strategic Planning - Develop project plans and manage project implementations based on requests coming through the Workday and SharePoint Management Tools to support SVH strategies.
- Personnel management - No direct reports. Responsible for coordination of project team members to ensure effective implementation but works through IS leadership to ensure appropriate resources are assigned.
- Fiscal Responsibility - Works with CIO to ensure expenses associated with projects are appropriately managed. Works to ensure resources are used effectively to minimize implementation costs. Ensures software, hardware and vendor support are available when needed during the implementation.
- PMO Solution Management-Utilizes and optimizes the Workday and SharePoint PMO project management tools making suggestions for changes to improve use of the products and streamline implementation workflows.
- Communication-Ensures that effective communication occurs during project team meetings, including key team members in the discussion. Ensures that stakeholders are kept aware of project status via routine status update emails.
- Ensures that needed assessments are completed as part of the PMO process.
- Ensures the testing required for Epic and other solution upgrades is completed including managing testing processes.
- Works with vendors to ensure issues lists are created and effectively maintained and communicated.
- Coordinates vendor activities including phone calls, onsite implementations and start and end of project related work.
- Facilitates the decision making process in meetings by ensuring communication of needed decisions and ensuring appropriate attendees at meetings to get the decisions made.

- 5% We have a number of remote locations around NE KS that have the potential to need support.
