POSITION SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Senior Inventory Management Specialist to assist the Stores and Distribution Manager in the management of multiple Shipping/Receiving and Bonded Stores facilities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all areas. This role involves overseeing the custody and tracking of both company-owned inventory and Government Furnished Property (GFP) and adhering to strict regulatory and contractual guidelines during the receiving, storing, issuing, packaging, and dispositioning of materials. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert applying their experience and critical thinking skills to assess, develop, and improve all processes and procedures related to these functions as well as provide support to other organizations in similar efforts. They will also conduct regular inventory counts, support audits, and manage the storage of hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA and EPA standards. This is a critical role that requires regular collaboration with multiple departments, including procurement, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to support smooth operations and maintain compliance with company and government requirements.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Receiving and Storing Materials: Receive, inspect, and document incoming inventory, ensuring proper storage of company-owned and GFP in compliance with regulations.

· Inventory Accuracy: Maintain accurate records in the inventory management system, conduct regular physical counts, and reconcile discrepancies.

· Issuance and Allocation: Issue materials and equipment per work orders/manufacturing orders or project requirements, ensuring proper tracking of GFP and inventory movement.

· Bonded Storage Compliance: Adhere to strict security and handling procedures for bonded storage, ensuring all inventory transactions are documented properly.

· Packaging, Labeling, and Shipment: Prepare critical flight hardware, hazardous materials, and GFP for shipment, ensuring compliance with labeling, packaging, and regulatory standards.

· Procedure Adherence: Follow and enforce company operating procedures, work instructions, and best practices for inventory and bonded storage management.

· Procedure Development and Process Improvement: Assess, refine, and develop operating procedures using process improvement methodologies assuring compliance with and alignment to existing requirements and guidance from sources both internal and external.

· Coordination with Departments: Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance, and shipping teams to meet project deadlines and resolve inventory-related issues.

· Audits: Support inventory and property audits by ensuring accurate records, documentation, and compliance with company and government requirements.

· Loss Prevention: Investigate inventory discrepancies, document losses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

· Training and Supervision: Train staff in inventory control processes and bonded storage requirements while mentoring junior employees in compliance standards.

Education & Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.

· Minimum of 8 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or bonded stores environments. Experience in the aerospace industry preferred.

· Experience developing, implementing, and refining operating procedures. Formal process improvement training and application is a plus.

· Experience with Deltek Costpoint Inventory Management or similar ERP systems.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and documentation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements

· This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). In accordance with U.S. export control laws, final candidates may be required to undergo additional export control screening to determine eligibility for access. Meeting these requirements is a condition of employment.

· Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
