The Senior Inventory Accountant is responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting of all inventory-related financial activity. This role oversees inventory transactions across purchasing, receipts, in-transit movements, reserves, cost changes, and valuation while ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The position leads inventory-related month-end close processes, supports audits, and partners cross-functionally with operations and supply chain teams to improve reporting efficiency and financial visibility.Key Responsibilities:Inventory Accounting Management
  • Oversee end-to-end inventory accounting processes and ensure accurate transaction recording.
  • Reconcile inventory accounts and validate inventory movements.
  • Analyze inventory variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage purchasing, receipts, in-transit inventory, reserves, adjustments, cost changes, and valuation.
Month-End Close
  • Lead inventory-related close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze inventory financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to resolve discrepancies.
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
  • Support internal and external audits, including inventory control reviews.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Provide detailed inventory reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Monitor inventory turnover, obsolescence, reserves, and valuation adjustments.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis related to inventory and SG&A as needed.
Qualifications:
