Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Senior International Tax Specialist to join our Tax team. In this role, you will support foreign income tax compliance, US international income tax compliance, and collaborate with various internal teams on tax structuring and planning initiatives.
Responsibilities- Prepare foreign income tax provisions and foreign tax return workpapers for non-US entities
- Prepare tax footnotes for the audited financial statements of foreign entities
- Manage OECD Pillar 2 compliance obligations
- Work with external advisors in reviewing and filing foreign income tax returns
- Maintain the tax compliance calendar and coordinate tax payments for all foreign entities
- Provide support in responding to inquiries from foreign tax authorities
- Review US international tax returns filings (e.g., forms 8865 / 8858)
- Manage US foreign tax credit calculations
- Analyze tax treaty issues including treaty applicability, non-resident capital gains, and permanent establishments
- Assist with transfer pricing compliance obligations
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, and legal teams on projects to create international tax efficiencies and improve tax structuring
- Research international tax issues and communicate findings clearly to internal stakeholders
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting international tax
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6-10 years experience in foreign corporate income tax regimes and experience managing compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions
- Ability to quickly familiarize oneself with the income tax rules of new tax jurisdictions
- Experience with US international tax reporting requirements
- Strong Excel skills, with the ability to independently read, edit, and create tax workpapers
- Strong project management skills, with excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail
- Exceptional cross-functional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Impeccable ethics, integrity, and discretion when working with confidential information
- Ability to work both independently and within a team, and take initiative to identify and resolve issues
- Master's in Taxation or CPA preferred
- Finance/trading industry experience preferred
The estimated base salary range for this position is 150,000 to 250,000 USD per year. The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
