Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex assignments that involve developing new techniques or improving existing ones.
  • Educate and mentor design staff, providing guidance on design issues.
  • Interpret, update, and create organizational Standards of Practice.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on architectural drawings from junior team members.
  • Fulfill responsibilities as a Project Architect, leading design efforts.
  • Serve as a liaison for clients, contractors, and other design professionals.
  • Act as a quality coordinator for design-led projects.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships within the team and across different disciplines.
  • Foster communication and idea-sharing to enhance project efficiency and innovation.

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Designer to work with our Interior Design team in Philadelphia, PA. In this role, you will apply creative and architectural fundamentals and practices in support of project teams to achieve a functional and efficient building environment. This role designs projects that encompass considerable scope and complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Use advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices in developing design.
  • Perform complex assignments requiring development of new and/or improved techniques and procedures.
  • Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as resource for design questions.
  • Participate in the interpretation, update, and/or creation of Standards of Practice.
  • Perform QA/QC on drawings from drafters, designers, and/or junior architects on project.
  • Perform the duties of a Project Architect.
  • May serve as contact for client, other design professionals, and contractors.
  • May act as quality coordinator for discipline led projects.
  • Establish & maintain positive relationships with co-workers, support and build others on the team and across disciplines/offices.
  • Be responsive to others and share information to improve efficiency and help others achieve goals; listen and engage in productive and critical debate.
  • Suggest new ideas and processes; stay informed of developments in practice areas; view obstacles as opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree of Architecture or related field from an accredited university required.
  • 8+ years of related experience in Interior Design.
  • Certified Interior Designer (NCIDQ) or licensure as regulated by state.
  • Prior experience in Revit is required; AutoCAD, Adobe Creative, and SketchUp experience is a plus.
  • Registered Architect in Pennsylvania or equivalent work experience as a Designer.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in all areas of architecture and specialized expertise in one or more related areas.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
