Job Summary

The Senior Interior DesignTechnologist leads the technical development and coordination of interiordesign projects from schematic design through construction. This senior role isresponsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of documentation, managingconsultant collaboration, and supporting contract administration andoffice-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Documentation
  • Lead and oversee the preparation of documentation, specifications, and modeling across all phases.
  • Produce and review complete construction document packages.
  • Conduct advanced code and bylaw analyses to support project permitting.
  • Manage tendering documents and review bid submissions.
  • Provide oversight of material and product research related to interior systems.

Project Support and Coordination
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary consultant teams and ensure documentation integration.
  • Liaise with clients, municipal authorities, and internal leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attend and lead meetings with clients and consultants.
  • Manage site meeting participation, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration processes.
  • Prepare fee letters and all necessary start-up documentation in collaboration with leadership.
  • Ensure all work aligns with the firm's Project Delivery standards, including proper use of filing systems, adherence to architectural procedures, and compliance with drawing and documentation protocols.

Team and Culture
  • Mentor junior technologists and contribute to team training and knowledge sharing.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on technical processes and best practices.
  • Lead discussions around the improvement of documentation systems and workflows.
  • Fully participate in a fast-paced, in-office environment that values collaboration.
  • Comply with all company health and safety policies and protocols.
  • Able to work in a collaborative, in-office environment (100% in-office presence required to support direct team engagement and effective cross-functional coordination).

Qualifications
  • Diploma in Interior Design Technology or Architectural Technology from a recognized institution.
  • 10+ years of experience in interior design documentation and technical coordination.
  • Prior security clearance with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required; InDesign, SketchUp, and 3D rendering are assets.
  • Strong knowledge of detailing, materials, building systems, and technical processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with contract administration (RFIs, shop drawings, change orders).
  • Familiarity with a broad range of project types; workplace and institutional preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with local Building Codes and permitting processes.
  • LEED® AP, WELL AP, or sustainability knowledge considered an asset.
  • PMP certification is considered an asset.
  • Proven communication skills and ability to manage responsibilities independently.
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and technical excellence.
