Full Job Description
The Senior Integration Engineer will design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using Salesforce's MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and other tools available at DFCI. This work includes, but is not limited to, creating APIs, data transformations and system integration to connect applications securely across our enterprise systems. This role will be a key contributor in advancing our API-led integration strategy, enabling scalable and secure data exchange across clinical, operational, and administrative platforms. The candidate will leverage knowledge and experience in MuleSoft platform components including API manager, Runtime Manager, AnyPoint Studio, Dataweave and AnyPoint MQ. The person should have a strong knowledge in the areas of middleware integration strategies, Application Programming Interface (API) Management, service-oriented architecture (SAP) design principles and microservices.

Job Description

The Senior Integration Engineer will design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using Salesforce's MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and other tools available at DFCI. This work includes, but is not limited to, creating APIs, data transformations and system integration to connect applications securely across our enterprise systems. This role will be a key contributor in advancing our API-led integration strategy, enabling scalable and secure data exchange across clinical, operational, and administrative platforms. The candidate will leverage knowledge and experience in MuleSoft platform components including API manager, Runtime Manager, AnyPoint Studio, Dataweave and AnyPoint MQ. The person should have a strong knowledge in the areas of middleware integration strategies, Application Programming Interface (API) Management, service-oriented architecture (SAP) design principles and microservices.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the subject matter expert for MuleSoft, overseeing daily operation and health of the platform; Monitor and support production integration; work with specialists to resolve complex integration issues.

Manage and prioritize production support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with stakeholders. Perform root cause analysis for integration issues and implement preventative measures to ensure system stability and performance.

Diagnose and resolve complex system configuration, production and deployment problems. Use monitoring and logging tools (such as MuleSoft Monitoring, queues and more) to identify and address performance bottlenecks.

Design, develop, and deploy MuleSoft APIs, integrations, and batch processes using Anypoint Studio, Anypoint API Manager, CloudHub. Implement API-led connectivity (System, Process and Experience APIs).

Connect disparate systems, applications and databases, ensuring seamless data flow. Support integrations with EHR platforms (e.g., Epic) and other third-party applications (Snowflake).

Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. Communicate complex technical concepts and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Perform testing, debugging, and performance tuning.

Perform platform management. Deploy and manage applications in CloudHub or a hybrid environment, ensuring tools such as JAVA are in the latest MuleSoft supported versions.

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate's relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
