The Opportunity

As a Senior Infrastructure Specialist, Enterprise Compute and Storage; you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient, secure, and future-ready operation of WSP's enterprise compute and storage services across Canada. This senior individual contributor role focuses on performance optimization, service reliability, and infrastructure lifecycle excellence within a large-scale, global IT environment.
Your Impact

You will:
  • Ensure the efficient operation of WSP's internal Enterprise Compute and Storage services and infrastructure.
  • Maintain the integrity of deployed asset data and ensure accurate documentation of infrastructure deployment.
  • Proactively evaluate infrastructure performance, health, and capacity, developing plans to optimize service consistency and cost effectiveness.
  • Work on highly complex matters and assignments of large scope, impact, and importance.
  • Collaborate with professionals and management to identify improvements in people, processes, and technology.
  • Lead and guide team members in developing analytical approaches and resolving significant infrastructure issues.
  • Proactively manage and monitor services, including suppliers and manufacturers, to ensure alignment with expected service levels.
  • Establish, maintain, and audit standards, processes, and procedures across enterprise compute and storage operations.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage metrics and KPIs to assess infrastructure performance and capacity.
  • Create and manage repeatable operational routines that proactively identify service improvements.
  • Conduct regular capacity planning and capacity management activities.
  • Develop and implement remediation plans for performance, health, or capacity issues.
  • Support IT regulations, compliance activities, and standards adherence.
  • Enhance and enforce service transition processes to protect operational stability.
  • Plan and support business continuity testing, reporting, and gap resolution.
  • Support problem management to resolve recurring infrastructure issues.
  • Contribute to the IT budget process by providing infrastructure-related input.
  • Manage the lifecycle of infrastructure hardware, software, licenses, and support subscriptions.
  • Own and maintain the integrity of asset data across all IT platforms.
  • Evaluate and continuously improve the effectiveness of operational monitoring.
The Skills That Set You Apart

You bring:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant, hands-on experience in Enterprise Compute and Storage operations.
  • At least 10 years of experience designing and implementing hypervisors, including VMware, AHV, and Hyper-V.
  • At least 10 years of experience designing and implementing enterprise storage solutions for structured and unstructured data.
  • Extensive in-depth knowledge of enterprise compute and storage services and infrastructure.
  • Experience working in large, global enterprise IT environments with distributed branch and campus sites.
  • Experience working within an ITIL-aligned service management organization.
  • Vendor certifications supported by proven practical experience (preferred).
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, organizational, project management, and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in information security compliance and secure infrastructure operations.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $114,600 - $151,800
MB & ON: $104,500 - $143,900
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $103,500 - $137,400
