Full Job Description
Rumble is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (CDN) to build, operate, and evolve the content delivery infrastructure at the core of a rapidly growing video platform. This is a high-impact role focused on ensuring creators and viewers receive reliable, high-performing video and web experiences at scale through resilient edge, caching, traffic-management, and routing capabilities.
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (CDN), you will work across network infrastructure, systems, and software engineering to improve latency, availability, throughput, and capacity. You'll help design and operate cache hierarchies, origin protection, load balancing, traffic steering, and failover systems while using automation and observability to make the platform more efficient and resilient.
This role requires strong Linux and internet-scale networking fundamentals, sound operational judgment, and a hands-on approach to solving complex production problems. If you enjoy optimizing content delivery, diagnosing difficult performance issues, and building fault-tolerant infrastructure for a mission-critical platform, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact at Rumble.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, operate, and improve Rumble's CDN and edge-delivery infrastructure.
• Improve video and content-delivery performance through cache optimization, traffic steering, load balancing, routing improvements, and capacity planning.
• Develop and maintain systems for origin protection, cache hierarchy, cache-fill behavior, cache invalidation, failover, and traffic distribution across points of presence.
• Partner with network, systems, and software engineering teams to diagnose and resolve latency, throughput, availability, and delivery-quality issues.
• Build and maintain automation for configuration management, deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows.
• Contribute to capacity planning, infrastructure expansion, and operational readiness for high-traffic services.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, respond to incidents, drive resolution, and communicate status clearly to stakeholders.
• Document infrastructure designs, operational procedures, incident findings, and subsequent reliability improvements.
Qualifications
• 8+ years of relevant network, systems, or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, DNS, and internet traffic routing.
• Hands-on experience operating or supporting CDN, edge, reverse-proxy, caching, load-balancing, or high-volume web-delivery infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of caching behavior, including cache-control directives, TTLs, cache keys, invalidation or purge mechanisms, and origin shielding.
• Experience optimizing availability, latency, throughput, and capacity for high-traffic production services.
• Strong Linux systems experience in a production environment.
• Experience automating infrastructure through Python, Bash, Perl, or similar scripting languages.
• Expert troubleshooting skills and the ability to remain calm and methodical during high-impact incidents.
• Excellent technical documentation and verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with anycast, BGP, traffic engineering, and multi-region traffic failover.
• Experience with DNS-based traffic steering, geo-routing, or global load balancing.
• Familiarity with DDoS mitigation techniques and origin-protection strategies.
• Experience with open-source routing daemons on Linux, such as BIRD or FRR.
• Experience supporting video delivery, streaming media, or other bandwidth-intensive platforms.
Annual Compensation Range:
$132,000 - $158,000 CAD base + benefits + equity (If based in Canada)
$150,000 - $195,000 USD base + benefits + equity (If based in the United States)
