Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join one of our long-term Federal projects.
Alpha Omega is looking for a Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team to support one of our government customers. The primary responsibilities for the position are to support all portfolio level documentation for 30+ applications, coordinate and collaborate with government client, and assist teams in best practices around vulnerability remediation. The nature of the work requires that the candidate demonstrates initiative, organization, responsibility, customer service skills, and the ability to be flexible and adaptive to a fast-paced, fluid business environment. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and decisively with all levels of the organization, collaborate within and across teams, and be able to solve practical problems as well as exercise sound judgement with regards to sensitive and confidential information.
Key Responsibilities:The ideal candidate will have real hands-on ISSO experience, with preferred experience in portfolio and O&M support. They should understand the full RMF process from start to finish, be comfortable working with different IA controls, and have experience using scanning tools and supporting ATO packages. Candidates should know FS-191, operational directives, and compliance requirements, along with a solid grasp of NIST RMF (SP 800-37) and NIST SP 800-53 controls (Rev 4 & Rev 5), CNSSI 1253.
- Provide subject matter expertise to ensure compliance with FDIC and NIST cybersecurity policies and frameworks.
- Support the implementation and sustainment of security controls in alignment with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Responsibility for and to assist system owners in maintaining system Authorization to Operate (ATO) status.
- Support Operations & Maintenance of 30+ applications, as well as initiative efforts around Cloud Migration and a breadth of technologies.
- Create and maintain documents like Security Impact Analysis (SIAs), POA&Ms, Security and Privacy Control Assessments (SCAs), and other continuous monitoring reports/artifacts
- Develop best practices around common vulnerability remediation, prioritization of findings and criticality, mitigation strategies, and counter measures.
- Develop and maintain knowledge management across programs.
- Hold training sessions and office hours to support project teams and promote collaboration across work streams
- Assist in identification of false positives due to unused libraries or other findings
- Hold monthly sessions with government clients to review documentation updates, in addition to regularly scheduled meetings required for workstream support
- Strengthen collaboration and information sharing across agency and external partners to support cybersecurity risk reduction and resilience.
Required Qualifications:Required Experience/Skills:- Minimum Years of Overall Experience: 10
- Highly responsive to customer needs
- Knowledge of security controls, ideally in government setting
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience supporting systems hosted in Cloud environments.
- Experience supporting systems in Agile and DevOps environments
- Experience supporting portfolio level O&M support
(Required or Preferred) Education:- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
Desired Certification(s): - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP)
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
Salary and Benefit Information:The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $170,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
