Full Job Description
The Infection Preventionist (IP) demonstrates knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) through certification and applies their knowledge and experience to guide practice while learning more advanced concepts
• The IP is responsible for collaborating to develop, implement and sustain effective IPC strategies
• Leadership: Implements and monitors IPC program and practices
• Collaborates to align IPC program goals with organizational goals
• Provides mentorship to IPs and seeks mentorship from experienced IPs
• Infection Prevention & Control Operations: Applies epidemiologic principles and uses appropriate benchmarks
• Evaluates the significance of surveillance and investigational findings to make recommendations for improvement
• Evaluates the effectiveness of surveillance plans and modifies as necessary
• Creates education program(s) to meet the needs and learning styles of the audience
• Conducts IPC assessments and/or rounding and communicates findings and recommendations.
