Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file Canadian sales tax returns, including GST/HST, PST and QST, along with U.S. sales tax returns.
  • Review invoices and payments for sales tax compliance.
  • Conduct technical sales tax research and interpret relevant laws and regulations.
  • Respond to sales tax inquiries from internal business partners and employees.
  • Assist with CRA and other sales tax audits, preparing documentation and answering inquiries.
  • Monitor changes in Canadian and U.S. sales tax legislation and assess their impact.
  • Ensure compliance processes for internal tax are adhered to.
  • Assist with month-end close and year-end audits linked to indirect taxes.
  • Collaborate with tax and finance teams on compliance and research issues.

Aplin has partnered with a well-established organization in London, Ontario, to hire a Senior Indirect Tax Analyst for a permanent opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file Canadian sales tax returns, including GST/HST, PST and QST, as well as U.S. sales tax returns.
  • Review invoices and payments to ensure compliance with applicable sales tax requirements.
  • Conduct technical sales tax research and interpret relevant legislation, regulations and administrative policies.
  • Respond to sales tax questions from internal business partners and employees.
  • Assist with CRA and other sales tax audits, including preparing supporting documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Monitor Canadian and U.S. sales tax legislative and administrative changes and communicate their potential impact on the organization.
  • Ensure internal tax compliance processes and procedures are followed.
  • Assist with month-end close and year-end audit processes related to indirect taxes.
  • Work with the broader tax and finance teams on compliance, technical research and other tax-related matters.
