Senior Human Resources Manager

The Position

The Senior HR Manager is a core member of the People Success team responsible for delivering Tier 2 HR support across employee relations, case management, policy application, leave management, and colleague lifecycle matters. The role provides practical, timely, and high-quality HR support to managers and colleagues, ensuring matters are assessed, actioned, and progressed to resolution.

Working within a tiered operating model, the Senior HR Manager manages day-to-day operational HR matters at the Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels requiring professional judgment, strong process discipline, and sound HR expertise. The role partners closely with HR Administrators, People Business Partners, and other People team specialists, escalating Tier 3 or high-risk matters where expert guidance, governance, or senior decision-making is required.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Manage Tier 2 HR matters, including employee relations cases, performance issues, leave matters, policy application, and colleague changes.
• Assess risk, urgency, and complexity, escalating high-risk or Tier 3 matters to the People Business Partner or Director as required.
• Provide practical guidance to managers and support sensitive matters such as investigations, terminations, and return-to-work plans.
• Apply HR policy and jurisdictional requirements consistently across colleague and manager queries.
• Manage operational HR requests that require judgment beyond self-service or Tier 1 support, ensuring documentation and records are accurate and complete.
• Partner with HR Administration and other specialists where handoffs or coordinated support are required.
• Work within the centralized intake process, take ownership of assigned matters, and maintain visibility of workload, priorities, and progress.
• Build effective relationships across People Success and provide timely, practical support to managers and stakeholders.
• Contribute to consistent service delivery, continuous improvement, and cross-team support.

To be successful in this role, you should have:
• Tertiary level qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including hands-on experience managing employee relations and operational HR matters.
• Strong working knowledge of employment law, policy interpretation, and regulatory compliance in relevant jurisdictions

In addition, the role requires the following attributes:
