About the Drivetrain HR Manager Opportunity


As the SeniorHuman Resources Manager, you will be a trusted advisor to the Drivetrain Vice President and General Manager and their leadership team, driving people strategies that enable business performance and long-term growth. You will lead a team of HR professionals providing end-to-end HR support for the drivetrain operations, engineering, supply chain, and Advanced Materials Technology organizations, with responsibility for talent strategy, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, culture, leadership development, recruiting, retention, and employee relations. This role plays a critical part in developing organizational capability, strengthening leadership, and creating an exceptional employee experience across a global workforce.


What You Will Do

  • Partner closely with the Vice President and General Manager of Integrated Drivetrain and their leadership team on strategic organizational culture, employee relations and people priorities.
  • Lead strategic workforce planning for the Drivetrain organization, with focus on critical skill identification, succession planning and footprint management
  • Lead strategic HR projects related to culture, employee engagement, talent pipeline and other key focus areas
  • Collaborate with management as a strategic advisor, helping identify and prioritize HR initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Align HR policies and programs for the business unit which promote employee engagement, retention and performance.
  • Act as a trusted coach, providing guidance to leaders and managers on HR-related matters including performance management, compensation and benefits.
  • Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends and opportunities and develop a clear story that provides data-driven recommendations to senior management.
  • Lead a team of HR professionals to collaborate effectively with our Centers of Excellence and serve as thought leaders to the business and to HR.
  • Provide direction regarding interpretation and application of employee-related policies, practices and procedures, as well as international laws and governmental regulations across our U.S. and Northern Ireland locations.
  • Coach and counsel leaders and employees, conduct internal investigations and support hiring, training and safety-related initiatives.
  • Work with global HR partners and process owners, including labor relations, talent management and communications, to deliver a consistent employee experience across the Drivetrain footprint.

  • Human Resources Consulting: Knowledge of HR approaches, tools and techniques; ability to inform, guide and advise managers in HR-related initiatives.
  • Talent Management : Knowledge of how an organization attracts, recruits, retains, identifies and develops talent; ability to develop the talent required for an organization to achieve its short-term and long-term goals.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

  • Prior HR Manager experience supporting global manufacturing, engineering and product development organizations.
  • Experience leading and developing a team of HR professionals.
  • Experience with workforce analysis and reporting and presenting complex themes to audiences at various levels within an organization.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate the Enterprise behaviors, outstanding judgment, creative problem-solving skills and comfort operating through organizational change.

Additional Information

  • This position is located in East Peoria, Illinois.
  • This role requires 5 days a week in office.
  • Domestic relocation is available to those who qualify.

Summary Pay Range:

$172,630.00 - $258,950.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
