POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner serves as the primary day-to-day human resources partner across Envision. This position partners with leaders throughout the organization to align people practices with Envision's mission, values, strategic direction, and operational needs while serving as a trusted resource and advocate for employees.

The Senior Human Resources Business Partner leads key organization-wide initiatives, including performance management, leadership development, new manager training, employee recognition, the Employee Advisory Group, and employee listening strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Serve as a strategic human resources partner across Envision, building strong relationships with leaders and employees, identifying workforce needs and concerns, and providing practical and consistent human resources guidance.
  • Coach and advise leaders regarding employee relations, people management, performance expectations, conflict resolution, attendance, corrective action, disciplinary procedures, suspensions, and termination decisions. Participate in employee coaching and disciplinary meetings when appropriate.
  • Lead the organization's performance management program, including redesigning and improving the process, establishing expectations and timelines, supporting leaders, monitoring completion, and recommending ongoing improvements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain new manager training and onboarding to ensure managers understand Envision's policies, procedures, leadership expectations, and available resources.
  • Develop and coordinate Envision's employee listening strategy and Employee Advisory Group (EAG), including surveys, employee feedback, member engagement, meeting planning, communication, follow-up, and EAG-sponsored initiatives to identify workplace trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead the strategy and execution of employee events and engagement activities in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the redesign and ongoing administration of Envision's employee recognition program.
  • Develop, review, and implement company policies and standard operating procedures, helping leaders understand and apply them fairly and consistently.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and requirements established by Envision's governing and oversight bodies. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and recommend appropriate changes to policies and practices.
  • Coordinate National Industries for the Blind compliance activities related to personnel documentation, including the completion and maintenance of PEI forms and other required records.
  • Coordinate onboarding and new-hire paperwork, ensuring documents are accurate, complete, and processed timely.
  • Partner with legal counsel and the Vice President, Human Resources, as appropriate, in responding to EEOC charges, legal claims, investigations, and other complex employee-relations matters.
  • Process and facilitate unemployment claims and provide accurate documentation and information in response to requests.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing workforce data and trends. Present findings and recommendations to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Serve as a human resources management system administrator and support accurate employee data, reporting, workflows, and system processes.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision to Human Resources administrative and front desk staff.
  • Assist with recruiting and other Human Resources functions as business needs require.
  • Lead or participate in special projects by defining objectives, developing timelines, conducting research, organizing information, and presenting recommendations or results.

Job Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business related field, or equivalent experience, required; not-for-profit experience preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years' prior experience in Human Resources.


Knowledge/Skills:

  • Must demonstrate a commitment to service, organization values and professionalism through appropriate conduct and demeanor at all times.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local employee and labor relations practices, laws and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels in order to develop and maintain strong relationships, with the ability to persuade, negotiate and communicate effectively.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as previous experience with HRIS/HRMS systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to:
