Senior HR Generalist Position SummaryThe Senior HR Generalist serves as a key partner to leaders, managers, and employees by providing both strategic and day-to-day human resources support. This role is responsible for employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compliance, compensation, benefits administration, employee development, and engagement initiatives. The Senior HR Generalist helps foster a positive workplace culture while ensuring HR policies and practices align with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Employee Relations - Serve as a primary HR resource for employee relations matters, conducting investigations and helping resolve workplace concerns.
- Advise managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, policy interpretation, and corrective action processes.
- Promote a positive workplace culture that encourages accountability, collaboration, engagement, and respect.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and practices across all departments.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding - Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and support recruiting efforts.
- Coordinate and participate in candidate screening, interviewing, and selection processes.
- Support onboarding programs and ensure successful integration of new employees.
- Assist with workforce planning and employee retention initiatives.
Performance Management and Employee Development - Guide managers and employees through performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, evaluations, and development planning.
- Coordinate training and development programs to support employee growth and leadership development.
- Identify opportunities to improve employee skills, engagement, and overall organizational effectiveness.
Compensation and Benefits - Assist with compensation administration, including salary benchmarking, pay reviews, and market analysis.
- Support benefit programs by responding to employee inquiries and assisting with enrollment and administrative processes.
- Partner with leadership to ensure compensation practices remain competitive and equitable.
Compliance and HR Administration - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support administration of leave programs, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation claims, and related employee matters.
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation, and reporting.
- Assist with HR audits, compliance initiatives, and policy updates.
Employee Engagement and Culture - Support programs designed to enhance employee engagement, retention, and workplace satisfaction.
- Coordinate employee feedback initiatives, surveys, recognition programs, and related action planning efforts.
- Assist in fostering a culture aligned with company values and organizational goals.
HR Operations and Support - Maintain HRIS data and generate reports to support business and HR decision-making.
- Analyze workforce trends and provide recommendations for process improvements and workforce planning.
- Collaborate with leadership on HR initiatives and organizational development efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
Experience - Five (5) or more years of progressive Human Resources experience required.
- Prior experience in an HR Generalist, Senior HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or similar role preferred.
- Experience supporting multiple areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, and compliance.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, professional services, or other fast-paced environments is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience managing employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, workers' compensation, and related employment regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Certifications - SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred but not required.
