Overview

Works with technical and non-technical customers to translate business needs into functional specifications using advanced understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare terminology, revenue management data and processes. Mentors and coaches colleagues and partners.

Responsibilities
  • Supports the goals of the organization through reporting, analysis, and data visualization.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills by working with technical and non-technical customers to translate business needs into functional specifications.
  • Advanced understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare terminology, revenue management data and processes.
  • Ensures that standard business definitions are applied appropriately in all forms of reporting.
  • Creates data visualization, such as charts and graphs, in Excel and other business intelligence tools (e.g. SAS-VA, Web Intelligence, etc.)
  • Manages own work and adheres to project timelines under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Builds queries in available BI tools against the EPIC clarity environment.
  • Able to write and execute basic SQL joins and stored procedures.
  • Participates in improvement projects both inside and outside the department.
  • Applies advanced statistical analysis techniques in the context of healthcare operations.
  • Extracts, manipulates and validates data from various sources.
  • Able to mentor and coach colleagues and partners.
  • Adheres to data standards and data sharing policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
