Senior Graphic Designer

Organization: The Thunderbirds - WM Phoenix Open
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Full-Time, Onsite)

Job Summary:The Thunderbirds, hosts of the PGA TOUR's legendary WM Phoenix Open, and Thunderbirds Charities are seeking a Senior Graphic Designer. This is a hands-on, high-impact role serving as the organization's primary creative and graphic design resource. The ideal candidate will conceptualize, design, and execute both digital and print-based assets across all branches of the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Creative Execution: Conceptualize, design, and produce high-quality, press-ready artwork and digital assets across all Thunderbird entities, including:

o The Thunderbirds Membership: Sales sheets, presentation materials, print collateral and digital newsletters.
o WM Phoenix Open: Sales materials, ticketing collateral, digital graphics, maps, and event collateral.
o Thunderbirds Charities/Thunderbirds Foundation: Digital graphics and collateral material.

  • Asset Management: Systematically organize, keyword, and manage photo library and the distribution of all photo and creative assets across content management systems (e.g., Brandfolder, Dropbox, SmugMug, Vimeo)
  • Photography Coordination: Coordinate, brief, and manage external photographers and videographers; leverage video and still content effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal staff, leadership, and organization membership to ascertain project scope, timeline, and creative direction.
  • Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for print and production vendors to ensure quality control, accurate specifications, and timely delivery.
  • Brand Stewardship: Maintain visual consistency and uphold brand standards across traditional and digital print media.


Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional graphic design experience within a creative agency, sports property, or in-house team.
  • Portfolio: A robust digital portfolio showcasing strong design sense, layout capabilities, advanced typography, and photo editing across print and digital mediums.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft 365. Experience with Lightroom and digital asset management tools is highly preferred.
  • Leadership & Mindset: Strategic thinker with leadership qualities, capable of managing complex priorities calmly and taking full ownership of projects.
  • Feedback & Iteration: Ability to synthesize strategic feedback from diverse stakeholders and effectively execute revisions, edits, and resizing.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative, team-first mentality.
  • Logistics: Ability to work full-time in our Phoenix office, with increased flexibility required during peak tournament season.


Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary range $85,000 - $95,000
