Full Job Description
What You Will Do:

As the Senior Global Procurement Manager, you will lead the strategic direction, performance, and development of the global sourcing organization. You will directly manage a team of three Commodity Managers, who themselves lead Buyers and Supply Chain Project Managers responsible for tactical execution. You will be accountable for developing world-class category strategies, optimizing the supply base, driving cost transformation, improving supplier performance, and ensuring continuity of supply across all programs and commodities.

This role serves as a key business partner to Operations, Engineering, Quality, SIOP/Planning, Materials, Finance, and leadership teams-ensuring that procurement strategies align with long-term business objectives, growth plans, and operational readiness.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership & Organizational Development: Lead, coach, and develop a team of Commodity Managers responsible for driving sourcing strategy and managing Buyers and Supply Chain Project Managers; Build organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, and coaching; Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strategic thinking across the procurement team.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Strategy: Develop and deploy long-term global category strategies across direct materials - including high-complexity commodities such as electronic components, cable assemblies, and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs); Ensure Commodity Managers execute commodity strategies consistently across programs, with clarity of roles between strategic and tactical execution; Oversee supplier segmentation, strategic sourcing roadmaps, and cost transformation initiatives.
  • Supplier Management & Performance: Build, optimize, and rationalize the global supply base to ensure capability, capacity, quality, delivery performance, and innovation; Lead executive-level supplier relationship management (SRM) and oversee Commodity Manager-driven supplier business reviews; Champion supplier development efforts in partnership with SQE.
  • Cost, Contracting & Negotiation: Drive annual and multi-year cost reduction targets across commodities; Govern all major negotiations, long-term agreements, pricing structures, and contract strategies; Support commodity teams in executing RFP/RFQ processes and evaluating proposals based on total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Risk Management & Continuity of Supply: Identify supply chain risks, lead long-range mitigation strategies, and ensure proactive management of obsolescence, capacity constraints, and geopolitical impacts; Oversee work transfer strategies and ensure execution across global supply networks; Champion cross-functional root cause and corrective action (RCCA) efforts for systemic supplier issues.
  • Tactical Procurement & Execution Governance: Provide strategic direction and oversight of all tactical procurement activities executed by Commodity Managers, Buyers, and Supply Chain Project Managers across assigned commodities; Ensure that MRP-driven procurement execution is accurate, timely, and aligned to approved commodity strategies and production requirements; Establish and enforce procurement process standards, including purchase order execution, change control, supplier communication protocols, and delivery assurance processes.
  • MRP Health, Data Integrity & System Governance: Oversee the accuracy and integrity of procurement-related data in ERP/MRP systems, ensuring Commodity Managers maintain disciplined parameter management (lead times, MOQ, safety stock, sourcing rules); Monitor MRP signal health and systemic data quality across all commodities, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement; Govern inventory optimization strategies to balance service levels, cash flow, and operational risk.
  • Shortage Management & Delivery Execution: Own the global shortage management process across commodities, ensuring Commodity Managers and Buyers are effectively identifying, mitigating, and escalating risks; Drive supplier delivery performance through structured escalation paths, data-driven action plans, and cross-functional alignment; Serve as the executive escalation point for critical material shortages, supplier constraints, and recovery actions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Engineering on early supplier engagement, design-for-supply-chain considerations, and NPI sourcing readiness; Collaborate with Operations, Planning/SIOP, Quality, and Materials teams to align procurement strategies with production needs and capacity plans; Communicate procurement strategies, risks, and performance to executive leadership.
