Senior Geotechnical EngineerS&ME is looking for a
Senior Geotechnical Engineer to drive the growth of our geotechnical practice throughout Tampa and Central Florida using your technical excellence, leadership and business acumen to drive our success. As a geotechnical leader in the market, you will establish and strengthen client relationships, expand our regional footprint and guide the delivery of impactful projects as a technical leader from early planning through final delivery while upholding high standards for safety, quality, and performance.
What You'll Do:- Lead the growth of S&ME's geotechnical practice throughout Central Florida, developing client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and expanding our regional presence.
- Drive business development efforts by partnering with clients, pursuing strategic opportunities, and helping secure impactful projects that strengthen our market position.
- Manage and oversee complex geotechnical projects from proposal through delivery, providing expertise in subsurface investigations, foundation systems, settlement analysis, slope stability, earth retention, and ground improvement.
- Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor, delivering innovative, practical solutions to challenging geotechnical conditions while ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
- Mentor and develop geotechnical staff, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and professional growth across project teams
- Build strong, lasting client partnerships through exceptional service, technical expertise, and a commitment to successful project outcomes.
What You Bring:- A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, Mining, or a related engineering field
- 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering and project management in the A/E/C industry
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain
- Proven success developing client relationships, managing projects, and supporting business growth
- Strong technical expertise in geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team development skills
- Proficient computer skills, including at a minimum Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD
