Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Java Engineer to help modernize and expand our platform. This role is best suited for an experienced engineer who can contribute across backend services, data integration, and modern web applications while helping establish technical patterns for a growing delivery team. The ideal candidate is strongest in Java and comfortable working across the full stack in a cloud-based, event-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and support scalable enterprise applications across backend services and user-facing components.
• Build Java-based microservices and REST APIs using modern frameworks such as Quarkus or Spring Boot.
• Develop and optimize data-intensive functionality using SQL and relational database technologies.
• Create and support event-driven integrations and streaming workflows using Kafka and, where applicable, Apache Flink.
• Develop responsive user interfaces and micro-frontends using React; contribute to Node.js or Python services when needed.
• Deploy and support solutions in AWS, with exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure considered beneficial.
• Partner with architects, product leaders, QA/SDET engineers, and distributed delivery teams to translate requirements into maintainable solutions.
• Help define reusable frameworks, development standards, and solution patterns that enable mid-level engineers to ramp up effectively.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, production support, and continuous improvement of engineering and delivery practices.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve delivery speed, test coverage, and engineering quality.
Required Qualifications
• 7 years of software engineering experience, including substantial hands-on development of enterprise Java applications.
• Strong Java development experience, including microservices, REST APIs, and modern service frameworks.
• Strong SQL skills and experience designing, querying, and optimizing relational data solutions.
• Full-stack development experience with React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience with distributed systems, asynchronous messaging, or event-driven architecture using Kafka or similar technologies.
• Hands-on cloud experience, preferably AWS.
• Ability to own technical work from design through deployment and production support.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a distributed enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on Quarkus experience; Spring Boot experience is also highly relevant.
• Experience with Apache Flink or another stream-processing framework.
• Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Experience with Node.js, Python, or another complementary backend language.
• Experience developing AI agents, integrating generative-AI capabilities, building AI frameworks, or using AI-assisted development tools.
• Prior experience establishing frameworks, mentoring developers, or serving as a technical lead.
