CGI is seeking a **Senior Full Stack Java Engineer** to join our consulting team supporting enterprise clients in the design, development, modernization, and scaling of mission-critical digital platforms.

In this role, you will work alongside architects, engineers, product owners, business analysts, and client stakeholders to design and deliver high-quality technical solutions. You will contribute hands-on expertise across **Java, Spring Boot, React, microservices, APIs, Kubernetes, messaging technologies, and CI/CD**, while helping modernize applications and strengthen engineering practices across the team.

**Location:** This position is based onsite at a client location in the **Salt Lake City, UT area**.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

How you'll make an impact

* Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable enterprise applications and AI-enabled product capabilities using modern Java and cloud-native technologies.

* Build and enhance microservices-based applications using **Java, Spring Boot, and related enterprise frameworks**.

* Develop modern user-facing capabilities using **React and JavaScript-based technologies**.

* Design, develop, and maintain **RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, event-driven integrations, and enterprise messaging solutions**.

* Collaborate with architects, business analysts, product owners, engineers, and cross-functional Agile teams to translate business and technical requirements into scalable solutions.

* Build and support containerized application deployments and CI/CD processes using **Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Maven, and related DevOps technologies**.

* Work with **Apache Kafka and asynchronous messaging technologies** to support distributed and event-driven architectures.

* Troubleshoot complex application and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and support timely incident resolution.

* Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, performance optimization, and application modernization initiatives.

* Contribute to the development and integration of **AI-enabled applications and intelligent automation capabilities** where applicable.

* Analyze existing business processes, applications, and technical requirements to recommend scalable, efficient, secure, and maintainable solutions.

* Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, coding standards, and source control best practices.

* Mentor junior developers, share technical knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement and engineering excellence across the team.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

What you'll bring

* **6+ years of software engineering or application development experience** within enterprise environments.

* **3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native application delivery.**

* Strong hands-on development experience with:

* **Java**
* **Spring Boot**
* **Microservices architecture**
* **React and modern JavaScript technologies**
* **SQL and relational databases**
* **RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations**
* **Apache Kafka and messaging technologies**
* **Git and source control management**
* **Maven and build automation**
* **Linux environments and scripting**

* Experience designing, developing, or supporting **SOAP web services** and enterprise API integrations.

* Understanding of enterprise authentication and authorization technologies, including **SAML and OAuth**.

* Experience with **enterprise messaging, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems**.

* Hands-on experience supporting CI/CD pipelines using **Jenkins, Kubernetes, and related DevOps tooling**.

* Strong understanding of **Agile software development methodologies, secure coding practices, automated testing, and modern engineering principles**.

* Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across application, integration, infrastructure, and deployment layers.

* Ability to work effectively in rapidly evolving technical environments while managing changing priorities.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

* Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional and distributed teams.

* Experience mentoring developers and contributing to technical standards, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.

## Preferred Qualifications
* Experience modernizing legacy enterprise applications and migrating functionality to modern Java, microservices, or cloud-native architectures.

* Exposure to **ColdFusion** or experience supporting applications built with ColdFusion.

* Experience developing or integrating **AI-enabled applications, generative AI capabilities, or intelligent automation solutions**.

* Experience working in a consulting environment and interacting directly with enterprise client stakeholders.

* Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical enterprise applications.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 $156,700.00.
