Pebl moves over a billion dollars across 180+ countries to make sure each employee gets paid every cent on time. In order to achieve this, Pebl needs both a consistent money movement system to pay out payroll cross border, and a flexible invoicing system to facilitate Pebl customers with the exact amount they need to pay. Every country and every customer's requirements are different, and so navigating complex forms and dashboards are critical. The more intuitive and straightforward this experience is, the more stress free people can look to pay and get paid.

We're a primarily backend focused team with fullstack capabilities, and are looking for someone to really take our domain's frontend user experience to the next level. We're searching for a frontend engineer that knows how to bring the user experience to life, but understands how to navigate the entire stack all the way to the database and infrastructure level. They'll work closely with product and design to transform what at times is boring and frustrating as bank forms and invoice dashboards into something delightful, while collaborating closely with other engineers on the team to stitch together a stable system and set the standard for effective frontend practices. They should prioritize simplicity and reliability in the face of unknown complexities, while also understanding when to make necessary, clear-eyed tradeoffs to create business impact effectively. This role will require in-office collaboration Monday-Wednesday in our Palo Alto, CA office.

How You'll Make an Impact:

• Design and build new features that allow users to engage with their paycheck through different financial means
• Enhance and reimagine the UX interface for how our users provide their financial information, and how they engage with their monetary accounts associated with their job
• Build seamless 3rd party integrations with payment vendors that help enhance Pebl's capabilities and abilities to pay our users
• Sharpen and delight our customers experience invoices to provide rich and robust data and insights
• Establish and standardize the frontend best practices for the invoice and payments domain, creating clean, reusable code, readable documentation, and replicable practices.
• Be the voice of expertise concerning frontend in a primarily fullstack and backend focused team

Let's Connect If You Have:

• 8+ years of professional frontend/UX software engineering experience
• 1+ years of experience building frontends and API frameworks for invoicing or financial systems, or 2+ years building frontends in a domain with either complex forms and dashboards
• Strong command of modern frontend (React/TypeScript) paired with a solid understanding of how frontends integrate with backend services and APIs
• Thorough understanding of frontend best practice design patterns and frameworks, and the expertise to dictate best practices for the team while working cross team in an established frontend system
• Proven experience working with designers and product managers to go from wireframes and mockups to frontend code that is reusable, scalable, and intuitive to use.
• Work with complex forms, such as country or use case specific form generation or validation, is a major plus.
• Experience with AWS, PostgresQL or similar RDBMS systems, and Kubernetes. Comfort and willingness to work across the full stack is critical (backend, infra). While 80-90% of your work will be frontend and API work, this isn't a pure frontend role.
• A flexible but opinionated mindset - focus on delivering iterative customer impact in a fast paced environment, but also standing firm on building reliably and with an eye for the future. "Strong opinions, held loosely" is the mantra.
