Full Job Description
The Role

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team that owns the end-to-end shopping experience focused on our wide array of non-subscription products. You'll work on every aspect of our customer journey, from product discovery, to maximizing promotions, to engaging with our stage-based parent education platform. You will own the e-commerce platform spanning product detail pages, cart, checkout, fulfillment, our content CMS, and more. You will do it all with a platform focus in mind - scaling our global audience to millions of customers and continuously looking for opportunities to enhance our technology, increase velocity, and maintain a high-quality bar. You will have genuine ownership and influence over technical direction, tooling choices, and the standards we build on.

We believe in AI as a multiplier, not a replacement for creative solutions and implementation. You will be encouraged to use fully AI-orchestrated workflows wherever possible, and an effective hire into this role should be familiar with and excited to use AI as part of their daily workflow. However, the true value you can add to our team comes from personally owning outcomes and continually stewarding our codebases and processes towards continuous incremental improvement.

What You'll Do
  • Architect, develop, and optimize our primary web applications and APIs that drive our global e-commerce and digital parent experiences.
  • Create scalable CMS models and configuration systems designed to evolve in tandem with our product roadmap and an expanding global audience.
  • Partner with integrated Product, Design, and Mobile teams to ship impactful features that support every stage of the customer journey.
  • Own the security, reliability, and performance of our frontend stack, ensuring a seamless experience for millions of parents.
  • Guide technical direction by evaluating new vendors and platforms, weighing the benefits of internal builds versus third-party integrations.
  • Champion engineering excellence by refining technical standards, development workflows, and team-wide best practices.
  • Leverage AI coding tooling and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate development while maintaining a high quality bar and sound engineering judgment.
  • Iterate on our CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (Vercel) to ensure consistent, high-velocity software delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative culture through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and a shared commitment to our mission.

What We're Looking For

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience and strong proficiency in shipping modern web applications (Next.js, React, Typescript, etc)
  • Experience with API design and best practices for what data/responsibilities should live on the client vs the server
  • Experience writing automated tests and working with CI/CD pipelines (Jest, Playwright, Vitest, etc)
  • Some professional experience with CMS tools and strategy (Contentful, Sanity, etc)
  • Some professional experience with A/B testing and analytics (Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, Rudderstack, Amplitude, etc)
  • Some professional experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, or equivalent server-side programming languages
  • Familiarity with caching, static, and dynamic rendering modes in Next.js
  • Clear written and verbal communication; strong collaborator and self-starter

Nice to Have
  • Background in consumer subscription or e-commerce platforms (Shopify especially)
  • Hands-on experience with Vercel infrastructure
  • Proficiency in Swift, Java/Kotlin, or other client-side programming languages (with a personal methodology to learn new languages)
  • Strong understanding of the strengths and limitations of AI-assisted software development, including when to rely on generated solutions and when deeper engineering analysis is required.
  • Passion for early childhood development and empathy for parents as product users

The Benefits/Perks You'll Enjoy
  • Competitive salary, benefits, and stock option package
  • 3 weeks PTO in year 1 +14 paid holidays
  • Parental leave
  • Any equipment you need to get the job done
  • Free/discounted Lovevery products
  • Remote-friendly
