POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a Senior Fraud Strategist to support Sony Engagement Platform services and partner with Sony operating companies to identify emerging fraud risks, shape scalable mitigation strategies, and deliver measurable improvements across global platform operations.
This role will work closely with the Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) Fraud, Risk and Identity team. The SIE team plays a central role in protecting Sony PlayStation's digital ecosystem by identifying, monitoring, and mitigating fraud, identity abuse, and emerging risk threats.
This role is ideal for a seasoned fraud professional who combines deep fraud subject-matter expertise, strong data-informed judgment, and the ability to lead complex fraud initiatives in partnership with product, engineering, analytics, data science, machine learning, operations, payments, identity, and external partners. The Senior Fraud Strategist operates with a high degree of autonomy within established strategic direction and serves as a key contributor to the broader fraud vision for SEPS.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Contribute to the development and execution of fraud strategy, roadmaps, and supporting capabilities across Sony Engagement Platform services, Sony operating companies, and related products and services.
- Translate fraud risks, customer needs, business objectives, control gaps, and operational insights into clear functional and technical requirements supported by data and analysis.
- Lead defined fraud mitigation workstreams from concept through implementation, coordinating cross-functional delivery with product, engineering, analytics, data science, operations, payments, identity, and external partners.
- Monitor evolving fraud and abuse trends across digital goods, physical goods, account activity, entitlements, identity signals, payments, and platform behavior; recommend tactical and strategic responses to current and emerging risks.
- Evaluate and improve fraud platforms, tools, workflows, detection rules, risk signals, and operational processes to increase precision, reduce false positives, minimize customer friction, and strengthen prevention capabilities.
- Develop business cases, value assessments, executive-ready summaries, and recommendations that help stakeholders prioritize fraud initiatives and investments.
- Define and track fraud metrics, dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks that monitor fraud trends, program performance, mitigation effectiveness, operational health, and vendor effectiveness.
- Act as a trusted fraud subject-matter expert for cross-functional partners, providing guidance grounded in industry best practices and practical operating realities.
- Document repeatable processes, configuration requirements, escalation paths, investigation procedures, and operational playbooks for fraud monitoring, risk mitigation, and identity-related risk workflows.
- Maintain flexibility to accommodate meetings with global colleagues and partners across time zones.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITIONYour qualifications and experience should include: - 8+ years of experience in online fraud risk mitigation, fraud analytics, trust and safety, risk strategy, or a related domain.
- 3-5+ years of experience in fraud strategy, fraud product management, fraud program delivery, or a closely related role.
- Deep understanding of fraud typologies, risk scoring, account security, identity abuse, payments risk, and the fraud lifecycle in ecommerce, digital commerce, online services, or platform environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply data, metrics, and structured investigation to real-world fraud challenges.
- Proven ability to manage complex initiatives across multiple stakeholders, teams, functions, and geographies.
- Ability to translate complex fraud concepts, data findings, tradeoffs, and business impact into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative mindset with strong relationship-building skills across product, engineering, analytics, operations, business, and external partner teams.
- Ability to operate independently while aligning decisions and deliverables to broader organizational strategy.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with online payments, digital commerce, digital media platforms, online services, connected-device ecosystems, or account security systems.
- Experience supporting or partnering with fraud vendors, third-party service providers, and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies, experimentation frameworks, rule engines, and fraud platform development models.
- Experience with data visualization or operational monitoring tools such as Tableau, Domo, Splunk, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with big data platforms such as Snowflake and the ability to partner effectively with analytics teams on large-scale data investigations.
- Proficiency using approved AI tools to accelerate analysis, identify patterns, synthesize complex inputs, and support documentation while validating outputs and applying appropriate judgment around data sensitivity.
- Japanese language skills.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $155,000 to $185,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
