JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Senior FPGA Engineer

Job Description:

Tektronix is looking for an FPGA Engineer to join our dynamic culture with our Beaverton, OR team. Are you results-oriented, and a natural collaborator? We want a validated engineer who knows how to define and implement FPGA logic in high-speed signal applications for electronic test solutions! Responsibilities:

  • Design measurement systems/subsystems that characterize and verify according to standards, customer devices, interconnects, optical and electrical systems.
  • Actively understand customer needs and develop solutions to delight them.
  • Set and meet schedules for fast and predictable development. Identify project risks and generate alternatives/recommendations to address risk.
  • Follow Agile processed for product development.
  • Engage and drive process improvement efforts for quality and efficiency of engineering organization.
  • Perform peer review and peer testing.
  • May conduct research leading to the establishment of feasibility for new products, product features, capabilities, or sophisticated test and measurement science.
  • Maintain relevant knowledge regarding new developments and trends in FPGAs/tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Creativity, Passion, Discipline, and Curiosity for learning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years of successful design experience working with industry partners such as, high-tech chip vendors, EDA tool vendors, product manufacturers and system integrators.
  • Experience designing FPGAs in Verilog and/or System Verilog.
  • Knowledge and application of electrical engineering principles, practices and techniques commonly employed in the design and development of electronic products.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and partnership skills.
  • Strong analytic skills and structured problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • 10+ years of successful design experience working with industry partners such as, high-tech chip vendors, EDA tool vendors, product manufacturers and system integrators.
  • Experience with Intel and Xilinx FPGA device architecture and tools.
  • Experience with FPGA verification with UVM.
  • Experience with embedded software (C/C++) and scripting languages (TCL/Python).
  • Understanding of serial data link protocols and design considerations.
  • Experience with theoretical and solid understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) concepts, such Fourier transforms, aliasing, and sample rate adjustment (decimation, interpolation).
