Senior Financial Systems Product Owner

About the Role

KBR is seeking a Senior Financial Systems Product Owner to join the Enterprise Systems team. This role serves as the primary liaison between Finance and Information Technology, driving the strategy, modernization, and continuous improvement of enterprise financial systems and related business applications. The successful candidate will combine strong financial and accounting knowledge with an understanding of enterprise technologies, integrations, and process automation to deliver scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the product owner and functional subject matter expert for enterprise financial systems and related business applications.
  • Partner with Finance stakeholders to gather, evaluate, and prioritize business requirements, translating complex business needs into actionable technology solutions.
  • Define and maintain product roadmaps, priorities, and enhancement backlogs to support business objectives and operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, architects, and vendors to deliver system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and modernize finance-related processes through technology-enabled solutions.
  • Support implementation and optimization of enterprise financial platforms, ensuring alignment with business requirements and organizational standards.
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), business process validation, and deployment readiness activities for system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Partner with Finance, Audit, Security, and IT teams to support compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and organizational governance standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships, service requests, and product support activities for assigned financial systems.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, business process flows, functional requirements, training materials, and support procedures.


Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting, managing, or optimizing enterprise financial systems, ERP platforms, or related business applications.
  • Experience serving as a Product Owner, Business Systems Analyst, Financial Systems Manager, Technical Project Manager, or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes, financial reporting, general ledger operations, and related finance functions.
  • Experience partnering with both business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver system improvements and technology solutions.
  • Experience supporting enterprise ERP environments; Deltek Costpoint experience is strongly preferred.

Technical & Leadership Skills
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and technology solutions.
  • Understanding of system integrations, APIs, middleware platforms, workflow automation, and data management concepts.
  • Experience prioritizing competing business needs and managing enhancement backlogs and project deliverables.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and change management practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to influence decisions, build consensus, and drive outcomes across cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Oracle Hyperion EPM, Cadency, Treasury Management Systems, or similar financial platforms.
  • Experience in government contracting, publicly traded companies, or highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with SOX, ITGC, audit controls, and financial compliance requirements.
  • Experience with workflow automation and integration platforms such as UiPath, Oracle APEX, or middleware technologies.
  • Experience leading financial system modernization, digital transformation, or process automation initiatives.


Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation.
