Position Summary

As the Senior Financial Reporting Professional, you will partner across Accounting, Finance, and business units to deliver clear, actionable reporting to senior leadership, ALCO, and the Board. You will serve as the finance reporting lead for cross-functional initiatives, playing a critical role in supporting external audits and regulatory examinations. As a technical accounting resource, you will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of financial information, including developing and preparing financial reporting deliverables in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.

This position is located at our HSFCU Headquarters in Downtown Honolulu.

Base Annual Salary Range: $86,800 - $113,925 per year

The posted range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.

Essential Duties:
  • Responsible for the delivery of accurate, timely, and actionable financial reporting, including GAAP financial statements, regulatory reporting (Call Reports), variance analysis, management reporting, and Board/ALCO materials.
  • Interprets and applies GAAP and regulatory requirements to ensure proper financial reporting.
  • Ensures the integrity, consistency, and completeness of financial information across accounting systems..
  • Partners closely with Accounting, Finance, and business units to assess financial reporting implications of complex transactions and determine appropriate accounting and reporting procedures.
  • Supports external audits and regulatory examinations as the primary financial reporting contact.
  • Develops and maintains financial reporting procedures.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2 years with a financial institution.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail, including the ability to prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and variance analyses with accuracy.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements applicable to financial institutions, including preparation and support of Call Report.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems and general ledger reporting structures; ability to validate and analyze system outputs.
  • Advanced skills and experience with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, or similar) for creating financial reports with various levels of detail.
  • Experience in identifying, interpreting, and implementing accounting and regulatory changes.
  • Prior experience supporting the financial close and reporting cycle.
  • Participated in internal and external audits, including NCUA or regulatory examinations.
  • Prior experience with financial calculations, ratios, and applying financial analysis techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to management.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional business units and teams.
  • Proficient in developing and writing operational procedures.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
  • CPA or progress toward CPA designation.
  • Experience within the financial services, banking, or credit union industry, including exposure to regulatory reporting.
