Full Job Description

Join Generac and play a key role in shaping our financial story. As a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst, you’ll support the preparation of SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K, while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and reporting standards. You’ll also contribute to stock-based compensation accounting, impairment analyses, and strategic transactions such as acquisitions and divestitures. Partnering closely with Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and both internal and external auditors, you’ll gain broad exposure across the business while helping drive accurate, transparent financial reporting in a dynamic, growing organization.

Major Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting.

  • Manage stock-based compensation accounting, including equity awards, journal entries, and earnings per share calculations.

  • Support goodwill, intangible asset, and long-lived asset impairment testing and related analyses.

  • Contribute to acquisitions, divestitures, and purchase accounting activities, including financial analysis and disclosures.

  • Partner with internal and external auditors by providing schedules, documentation, and audit support.

  • Research technical accounting matters and help implement new accounting and SEC reporting standards.

  • Support XBRL reporting and maintain the integrity of financial data within SEC reporting systems.

  • Assist with close and consolidation activities while ensuring SOX compliance, strong internal controls, and delivering insights for strategic projects.

Minimum Job Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting, SEC reporting, or public company accounting.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

  • Ability to research and apply technical accounting guidance to complex business transactions.

  • Analytical problem-solver with sound judgment and exceptional attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner across all levels of the organization.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA licensure.

  • Public accounting experience with a Big 4 or large regional firm serving SEC registrants.

  • Hands-on experience preparing or reviewing SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K.

  • Knowledge of SEC reporting tools such as Workiva, RDG, or OneStream.

  • Experience working with ERP systems, including SAP or Oracle.

  • Exposure to technical accounting areas such as stock-based compensation, impairment testing, and business combinations.

  • Strong understanding of financial statement preparation, disclosures, and reporting requirements.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while supporting complex accounting and reporting initiatives.
