Position Overview:We are seeking a highly analytical, systems-savvy, and proactive Senior FP&A & Strategic Initiatives Specialist to partner directly with our CFO. This is a dynamic, high-impact role designed for a finance professional who thrives on variety. You will own our budgeting and forecasting processes, act as our resident Sage system expert to optimize financial reporting, and lead critical ad-hoc strategic initiatives.

Work Location:The successful candidate for this role can be either a remote employee (working 100% remotely from a designated location within Canada), a hybrid employee (flexibility to work in the office or from home at a location within 75 km from the London, ON office), or an in-office employee at our London, ON office.
Responsibilities:Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis (FP&A)- Lead the Annual Budgeting Process: Coordinate with department heads to build, refine, and finalize the annual operating and capital budgets.
- Dynamic Forecasting: Maintain and optimize forecasts and cash flow projections to support strategic decision-making.
- Variance Analysis: Monitor monthly and quarterly performance against budget, and assist in deep-dive variance analyses and actionable commentary.
- Financial Modeling: Build robust financial models to evaluate new business opportunities, capital expenditures, and ROI.
- External Compliance Reporting: Partner closely with the Financial Controller to gather, analyze, and consolidate data for HQ and other external reporting compliance.
Systems Optimization & Sage Administration- Sage Power User: Serve as the organization's primary subject matter expert (SME) for Sage.
- Process Improvement: Review, streamline, and automate existing financial workflows and reporting structures within Sage to eliminate manual bottlenecks.
- Data Integrity: Ensure seamless integration between Sage and auxiliary operational systems.
Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives- Ad-Hoc Projects: Lead diverse, high-priority projects assigned by the CFO (e.g., system migrations, pricing reviews, cost-reduction initiatives, or M&A support).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with department leads to provide financial insights that drive operational efficiency.
- Change Management: Act as a key driver of change, helping implement new financial policies, tools, and best practices across the organization.
Education & Experience:- Professional Designation: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), or senior accounting roles.
- Systems Expertise: Advanced, hands-on proficiency with Sage is highly valued. You should feel comfortable configuring reports, troubleshooting, and optimizing the platform.
- Advanced Excel: Exceptional financial modeling and data manipulation skills.
- Tax Knowledge: Corporate tax experience or strong foundational knowledge of corporate tax compliance and planning is a significant asset.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Tech & AI Affinity: Demonstrated interest or hands-on experience in utilizing AI technologies and advanced automation to modernize financial processes.
Bonus Education & Experience:- Relevant industry experience
