Location is flexible, within Alberta, dependent on the successful applicant.

AFSC requires an individual with an accounting designation, and a passion for Agriculture to join our team as a Senior Financial Operations Analyst (SFOA). Previous experience in the preparation and review of AgriStability applications and a strong knowledge of Agricultural operations is preferred.

Familiarity with filing farm tax would be an asset as the SFOA is responsible to review, analyze and interpret financial, tax and production information.

This position assists in the adjudication of income stabilization applications (AgriStability), delivers AgriRecovery responses and participates in workflows relating to other AFSC programs/products as required.

What will you be responsible for?
  • Provide input into national policy, program design and implementation.
  • Provide technical and policy expertise to AFSC staff, clients and authorized representatives.
  • Identify and evaluate complex, expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to make recommendations and implement solutions with respect to Income Stabilization claims.
  • Review and provide input on Policy & Procedures Manual, Technical Information Circulars, Interpretation Bulletins and Program Guides. Identifying program, policy and/or processing weaknesses providing feedback to management with recommendations for improvement.
  • Audit, review, and update of system requirements and documentation. Ensure systems are built and parameters and procedures are set such that claims are processed on a timely basis with an appropriate level of due diligence within corporate risk tolerances.
