Job Title: Senior Financial Operations Analyst

Department: CHS Finance

Reports To: Financial Analysis Manager with Matrixed reporting relationship to the Chief Innovation and Transformation Officer.

Job Summary: In this non-supervisory role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the financial health of Cayuga Health System. The Senior Financial Operations Analyst will be responsible for utilizing interdepartmental collaboration to analyze financial data, streamline processes, and contribute to the overall success of our health system by providing detail-oriented reports, analytics, and presentations to drive performance improvements across business units.

Location: Hybrid/flexible work location, but must be based in the U.S., NY State preferred.

Job Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Preparing detailed financial reports and presenting findings to key stakeholders.
  • Utilizing financial systems to create and maintain accurate records.
  • Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring budget performance, providing insights into budgetary discrepancies.
  • Maintaining knowledge of current industry trends and regulations.
  • Developing innovative strategies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Staying up to date with financial technologies and software.
  • Continuously supports inter-department collaboration between Financial Operations (FinOps) and Innovation and Transformation (I&T) stakeholders in support of financial performance improvement initiatives.
  • Spearheads projects in either Financial Analysis, or Innovation and Transformation domains, deemed as appropriate by key stakeholders

Qualifications
  • You should be a highly organized individual with excellent creative problem-solving skills and an aptitude for numbers.
  • You are familiar with KPIs, OKRs, NPR, and SQL acronyms and not phased by them.
  • You should be adept at using financial systems, have strong attention to detail, and be able to interpret financial data with precision.
  • You are data-driven, performance oriented, and know that communication is the instrument of effectiveness.
  • You are a self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively.
  • You have the ability to multitask and prioritize work in order to meet internal deadlines.

Requirements:

Education - Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field

Experience - Three years of experience in financial operations, analysis and/or budgeting

Licensure - none required.

Physical Requirements - must remain stationary 50% or more of the time. Must be able to exchange accurate information. May occasionally need to move light objects up to 20 pounds.
