Full Job Description
Senior Financial Analyst (SFA), Capital Projects

Toronto, ON | Full-time

This role is for a finance professional who wants to move beyond reporting and play a hands-on role in how capital projects are planned and managed-someone who enjoys working with data, improving processes, and partnering with the business.

As Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Projects, you'll work closely with stakeholders to manage forecasting, reporting, and capital tracking, helping ensure projects are delivered with strong financial oversight and aligned to business priorities.

What you'll do

You'll support capital planning, forecasting, governance, and reporting processes, working closely with the Manager, Capital Projects to ensure effective oversight of capital spend. You'll prepare and deliver accurate monthly management reporting and analysis, while contributing to the annual capital budgeting cycle and ongoing forecast updates.

You'll partner with business stakeholders to support the recording of capital asset activity in D365, including accrual reviews and participation in month-end and year-end close processes. You'll track project costs through construction work in progress accounts, support project closeouts, and ensure assets are appropriately componentized upon completion. You'll also assist with compliance and reporting requirements related to grant funding programs and other agreements.

You'll build strong relationships across the organization, acting as a key point of contact for capital-related processes while supporting business teams. You'll assist with audit and tax requirements related to fixed assets, deliver ad-hoc analysis and reporting, and contribute to special projects. In addition, you'll continuously improve processes by updating workpapers, supporting finance transformation initiatives, and helping implement and test new systems, controls, and procedures.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business, along with a professional designation (CPA preferred or equivalent).
  • You bring a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar Senior Financial Analyst role, or 2 years of audit/assurance experience at a large public accounting firm.
  • You have strong technical skills, with proficiency in Excel and accounting/reporting systems (experience with Dynamics 365 and Power BI is an asset).
  • You're an effective communicator who can collaborate across Operations and Corporate teams and build strong working relationships with business partners.
  • You are process-oriented, proactive, and enjoy improving workflows-comfortable taking initiative and solving problems independently.
  • You have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000, based on experience, skills, and alignment with the role.
