Job Description​

We are hiring a Senior Financial Analyst!

Job Overview:

  • Provide significant support for all financial and accounting operations for the Specialty Services Division, Surgical Specialists Division, and select other Divisions of the Saint Luke’s Physician Group (SLPG).  This includes financial reporting and variance analysis, financial analysis and pro-formas, budgeting and forecasting, physician compensation, management reporting (wRVU’s, volume statistics, FTE’s, percentile rankings, etc.), and preparation of 990 tax return.
  • Working with centralized corporate departments for purchasing and accounts payable, contract billing, employee expense reimbursements, payroll and benefits, and risk mgmt.
  • Require strong Microsoft Excel skills, analytical skills, & budgeting skills, and ability to work in multiple software systems (Workday, EPIC, etc.).

Essential Duties of Position: 

  • Work with Centralized Corporate Accounting Team and SLPG Finance Team to complete the month-end financial close process and distribution of financial statements by Division and for Consolidated SLPG.  Prepare appropriate journal entries for accruals, allocations, etc., and detailed support needed for contract billings.  Prepare financial presentations with variance analysis by Division and for Consolidated SLPG.  Review monthly financial statements with Division Chairs, Vice Chairs, and Managers.
  • Work with Operations Directors on the management of all ongoing physician compensation changes per employment agreements to ensure physicians are correctly paid.  Review and submit as needed compensation for physician bonuses, wRVU’s, supplemental payments, etc.  Review and submit compensation for APP quality bonus pay and physician APP oversight pay.  Provide support and financial analysis for physician compensation FMV reviews.
  • Work with Finance Directors, Division Chairs, Vice Chairs, and Managers to complete the annual budget, forecast of current year results, and appropriate long-range plans.
  • Financial modeling and analysis, and pro-formas as needed related to SLPG strategic plans, new programs, operations, profitability, and financial statements.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service to SLPG physicians, directors, managers and staff, and all of the centralized corporate departments.
  • Complete sales and use tax reporting, and assist with annual MGMA surveys, community benefit reporting, and SLPG 990 tax return.
  • Complete review and processing of employee and physician expense reimbursements and CME tracking.
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining proper financial internal controls.
  • Implement new financial systems and reporting tools as needed.
  • This position operates in an office environment most of the time.
  • Some light travel to regional facilities is required as needed.

Education and/or Licensing Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred
  • Prefer master’s degree in business administration, accounting, health care finance, or equivalent work experience.

Experience Required for the Position:
  • 3-6 years of experience required. 6+ years experience in accounting preferred.
  • Prefer 6+ years of accounting experience with a large physician practice organization.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
