The
Senior Financial Analyst will work with the FP&A team to provide support with the annual budget process and corresponding monthly variance analysis. They will be responsible for partnering with budget owners, accounting, and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting, forecasting, and variance explanations. This role will aid in preparing executive and board presentations.
We are flexible with respect to geographic location, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely/work from home within the US or be based from Bethesda, MD office.
Primary Duties:- Partner with various teams with forecasting expenses and headcount; take point on leading budget variance analysis to create clear and concise written explanations to explain differences from plan and prior forecasts. Create executive level charts and slides for monthly, quarterly and annual executive and board presentations.
- Assist in identifying and implementing additional ways to utilize NSPB (financial planning and budgeting tool), as well as using AI to create more efficiency.
- Partner in the annual budget process, collaborating with Finance Business Partners, business leads and accounting.
- Collaborate in preparing the monthly Executive Committee and quarterly Board Decks.
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis in support of other financial and business priorities.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ Years work experience in Finance
- Advanced excel skills, including Financial Modeling, the ability to create and maintain complex spreadsheets, summarize data with Pivot Tables, and comfortable using lookup functions
- Strong analytical abilities with the capacity to synthesize large amounts of data and provide actionable insights
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team player attitude is essential - ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility
- Adaptability: A self-motivated, organized approach to managing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Preferred knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:- Prior experience with NetSuite Budget and Planning system experience or similar FP&A software
- CPA license
- Highly organized with exceptional time management skills
Physical Requirements:- Sitting for prolonged periods of time. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Occasional walking and lifting may be required.
