Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA certification preferred
• 4-6 years of relevant financial reporting experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles (ASC 842 experience preferred)
• Proficient in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Critical thinker with the ability to ask insightful questions
• Familiarity with Oracle EPM including SmartView is advantageous
• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly intercompany elimination journal entries and review corporate office consolidation adjustments
• Conduct analytical reviews of statistical data submissions for monthly and quarterly closes
• Prepare financial statements and schedules for reporting to Berkshire Hathaway and stakeholders
• Evaluate commercial contract terms to determine proper accounting treatment
• Compile and prepare data for government surveys on a quarterly and annual basis
• Review complex accounting matters and support documentation efforts
• Provide technical accounting guidance to Division/plant contacts
• Serve as a technical advisor on lease accounting systems and assist in policy development
• Manage and test financial reporting consolidation systems and design internal reporting tools
• Streamline accounting processes and support auditing efforts
