Senior Financial Analyst

HYBRID | ONSITE AT JOSTENS' MINNEAPOLIS HEADQUARTERS 3 DAYS/WEEK

ABOUT YOU:

Support business success by providing essential accounting and financial analyses. Analyze financial data, track performance metrics, and deliver insights to drive strategic decision-making. If you excel at interpreting numbers and optimizing financial processes, this role is for you!

YOU HAVE:
  • Technical skills. Strong technical accounting skills combined with business acumen. Working/advanced level skills with Excel and Access. Preferred experience/proficiency with Oracle mainframe G/L systems.
  • Attention to detail. Analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple simultaneous tasks under deadline pressure.
  • Great communication skills. Ability to work effectively across multiple organizational levels. Ability to communicate technical issues in finance and accounting to a general business audience. Ability to negotiate skillfully and creatively to come up with value added solutions to business problems.
  • Autonomy. Ability to make sound business decisions based on a mixture of policy, situational analysis, experience and common sense.
  • Experience. 5 - 8 years' progressive professional experience in Finance/Accounting.
  • Education. Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance. Preferred CPA, CMA or MBA.


YOU WILL:

  • Develop annual financial plans, quarterly financial forecasts and monthly variance analyses for IT area and a portion of Marketing area. Communicate reasons for variances to IT & Marketing leadership and to Finance leadership.
  • Prepare Capital Expenditure Annual Plans and Forecasts.
  • Prepare IT project justification and Capital Expenditure Requests for the IT and Marketing areas. Ensure that requests are complete and align with company policies regarding Fixed Assets, Internal-Use Software Capitalization and other relevant policies.
  • Record contracts in prepaid expense, set up amortization schedules and prepare monthly amortization entries in accordance with company policy.
  • Prepare plans, forecasts and actual costs related to marketing collateral materials, as well as related cost recovery in coordination with Marketing and Sales Support functional areas.
  • Calculate and record accruals related to contractor spend.
  • Calculate and prepare capitalization entries for completed software development projects.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations for various accounts related to job duties.
  • Support IT and Marketing leaders with various questions, planning activities and financial advice.
