Summary

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Senior Financial Analyst to support the financial performance of our Medicare Advantage and risk-based healthcare programs.

The Senior Financial Analyst is the primary finance partner supporting Curana Health's ProCare relationship and affiliated risk-bearing facilities. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you will deliver timely, decision-oriented financial reporting across ProCare's Institutional Special Needs Plan (I-SNP) and Chronic Special Needs Plan (C-SNP) products while partnering closely with Strategy, Operations, Clinical, and external stakeholders to drive financial transparency, accountability, and performance improvement.

In this role, you will lead key financial analyses supporting budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and strategic growth initiatives. You will translate complex claims, membership, utilization, and cost data into actionable insights that support business decisions and operational performance. You will also support month-end close activities, financial audits, regulatory reporting, and strategic initiatives while serving as a trusted advisor to leadership and operational teams.

The ideal candidate combines strong healthcare finance expertise with advanced analytical capabilities and a deep understanding of managed care, Medicare Advantage, value-based reimbursement, and financial performance management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Performance Reporting & Analysis
  • Create and deliver monthly financial performance reporting, including P&L analysis, utilization trends, healthcare spend analysis, and gainshare/risk-share performance results.
  • Develop clear, actionable financial storylines and recommendations for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare executive-ready summaries, presentations, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor performance across health plan products and affiliated risk-bearing facilities, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Risk Arrangements, Capitation & Reconciliation
  • Own facility-level risk agreement calculations and performance incentive reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timely delivery.
  • Lead monthly capitation and membership reconciliation processes in partnership with Finance and Operations.
  • Investigate variances, identify root causes, and coordinate issue resolution across stakeholders.
  • Support financial transparency and performance accountability within risk-based reimbursement arrangements.
Claims, Utilization & Healthcare Cost Analysis
  • Analyze healthcare claims, medical expenses, utilization patterns, and key cost drivers to identify trends and business implications.
  • Evaluate accrual methodologies and support ongoing refinement of healthcare cost forecasting processes.
  • Review denied claims, high-cost claims, and payment variances to ensure financial accuracy and identify recovery opportunities.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to understand utilization trends and improve financial performance.
Part D Financial Oversight
  • Maintain documentation related to Part D funds flow, including revenue sources, accrual methodologies, and operational performance drivers.
  • Support leadership discussions regarding Part D performance, vendor costs, and financial optimization opportunities.
  • Provide analytical support related to pharmacy performance and healthcare cost trends.
Audit, Regulatory & Vendor Support
  • Track recoveries, recoupments, and reimbursement adjustments while ensuring accurate accounting treatment.
  • Support internal and external audits and assist with the preparation of financial schedules, documentation, and regulatory submissions.
  • Coordinate and analyze vendor data to support proper accounting, reporting, and prefunding activities.
  • Assist with CMS-related financial reporting and compliance requirements.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Support
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and cash flow analysis activities.
  • Assist with Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) reporting, Medicare Bid development, and other key CMS deliverables.
  • Partner with Data Operations and Reporting teams to develop, improve, and maintain financial and operational reporting.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and decision support for growth initiatives and business planning efforts.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across Finance, Operations, Clinical, and business teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare finance, managed care, Medicare Advantage, value-based care, or risk-bearing organizations strongly preferred.
  • Experience within a health plan, managed care organization, provider group, ACO, IPA, MSO, or healthcare services organization.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Advantage products, including I-SNP and C-SNP programs.
  • Experience analyzing healthcare claims, capitation arrangements, utilization trends, Medical Loss Ratio (MLR), and risk-based reimbursement models.
  • Familiarity with Part D financial reporting, healthcare cost accounting, and accrual methodologies.
  • Experience supporting CMS reporting, Medicare Bid development, regulatory filings, or healthcare audits.
  • Experience with healthcare analytics, business intelligence tools, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar reporting platforms.
