Description

The Senior Financial Analyst role is a dynamic finance-based position located in our Kansas City office. The ideal candidate for this role enjoys digging into the financial details and can alternate seamlessly between in-depth analysis and executive level communication.

This role will work directly with the Finance Leadership team on several different topics and requests as they arise. Every day will be different and bring an exciting variety of topics covered. Candidates must be self-starters, have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, be able to manage multiple deadline-oriented projects and have exceptional communication skills. This position presents an excellent opportunity for highly motivated individuals to join the Financial Services Department and provide immediate value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate directly with Finance Leadership team on special projects, executive presentations, and financial analysis requests
  • Perform in depth research on key topics as they arise, providing concise summarized findings and recommendations to leadership for decision making purposes
  • Interpret data and create a narrative of results, including data visualization
  • Support ad-hoc requests related to business goals of executive leadership. These could include topics such as client and market trend analyses, sensitivity and scenario planning, and project pricing development. This roll will require collaboration with multiple departments within Financial Services
  • Analyze current and past trends in metrics and measures to identify and track key performance indicators
  • Develop financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all financial information and strategic initiatives
  • Obtain exposure and base level understanding of multiple areas within Finance, such as cost forecasts, financial reporting, business planning, and operations support & budgeting
  • Assist on Finance and Cross-Corporate Services Initiatives where key financial analysis or research is needed
  • Maintain and leverage ongoing knowledge of accounting systems and data reporting capabilities, including Oracle, Microsoft Power BI, and EcoSys
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum eight (8) years of related accounting experience; extra credit may be given for public accounting experience
  • Advanced skills and experience using Microsoft Office; specifically, Microsoft Excel
  • Problem solving skills - strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify problems and develop innovative solutions
  • Planning/organizing - the ability to manage multiple tasks to ensure assignments are completed in a timely and productive manner
  • Quality control/attention to detail - demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance
  • Adaptability - adapts to change in the work environment and can deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Must be self-motivator, detailed, well-organized and have strong client service skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Preferred (but not required):
  • Experience with Oracle and Microsoft Power BI
  • One year of additional credit given for CPA or MBA
