Job Summary

As a Sr. Financial Analyst - FP&A, your performance and contribution will achieve the following goals and objectives:
•
Financial analysis and management reporting: Analyze, reconcile, and report financial (U.S. GAAP) profitability compared with published mark-to-market economic profitability for CITGO's Supply and Trading businesses, including recurring and ad hoc management reporting and related commentary.
•
Business decision-making: Provide financial analysis that supports profitable business decisions and improves understanding of the timing of economic impacts versus financial reporting.
•
Knowledge sharing: Share relevant knowledge and FP&A best practices and contribute to team documentation, training, and cross-training activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business analytics, data science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or another quantitative or business-related discipline.

8 years job related experience.

• Demonstrated proficiency with advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, or comparable analytical, automation, and visualization tools is required. Experience working with energy trading and risk management systems, or comparable commercial platforms, is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial processes, management reporting, and the relationship between economic and U.S. GAAP profitability.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using SAP or comparable enterprise resource planning systems to analyze and reconcile financial data and produce management reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial and commercial analysis clearly, collaborate effectively across Finance, Risk, Commercial, and operational teams, and constructively challenge assumptions to support sound business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze complex financial, commercial, and operational data; identify underlying business drivers; connect findings across multiple data sources and functions; and translate analysis into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an extremely complex, dynamic, and fast-paced team environment.

Job Duties

Management reporting: Maintain and enhance weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports that assess economic and financial results, identify the commercial, market, and operational drivers of performance, and communicate results through clear, concise analysis and commentary that support management decision-making.

Planning & forecasting: Analyze CITGO's economic and financial profitability performance against Commercial business plans, analyzing business performance and market conditions to create forecasts and reconciliations of these different profitability perspectives, while helping senior management make tactical and strategic decisions by providing periodic reports.

Business decision support: Apply advanced analytical acumen to assess mark-to-market economic results, reconcile those results with financial profitability, and clearly explain the underlying timing and business drivers in collaboration with Commercial, Finance, and Risk stakeholders.

Business analytics: Use key relationships and knowledge of business strategy, trends, and key events to identify opportunities to improve business analytics and performance-management tools.

Scenario modeling: Develop model structures, testing processes, and implementations; determine the appropriate delivery platform, including Power BI or Microsoft Excel; and document model implementation and maintenance procedures.

Leadership: Share relevant knowledge and FP&A best practices and contribute to team documentation, training, and cross-training activities.

Special projects: Lead other initiatives and special projects as directed by FP&A management, including development of new Commercial business and additional systems initiatives.
