Position Summary

Propelis is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Commercial Finance team. The Commercial Finance team partners closely with Commercial, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership teams to support pricing strategy, commercial decision-making, contract renewals, and client profitability initiatives.

This is a highly visible role responsible for developing financial models, evaluating commercial opportunities, supporting pricing and profitability initiatives, and delivering analytical insights that enable fact-based business decisions. The role works closely with global stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies to support growth, margin improvement, and commercial excellence initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be results-oriented, intellectually curious, highly analytical, and motivated by continuous improvement. Strong financial modelling capabilities, commercial acumen, and communication skills are critical for success in this position.

This role has no direct reports.

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid, 2 days per week) or Remote within the Central or Eastern Time Zones

Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results

  • Develop financial models and pricing analyses for new business opportunities, renewals, pricing initiatives, and commercial programs to evaluate financial performance and profitability outcomes.
  • Partner with Commercial, Operations, Finance, Legal, and other business stakeholders to understand operational drivers, client requirements, and profitability considerations.
  • Analyze client, service, and business performance to identify risks, opportunities, and recommendations to improve revenue growth and margin performance.
  • Support pricing strategy development through scenario modeling, financial analysis, benchmarking, and commercial evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, and analytics used to track pricing performance, profitability initiatives, and key commercial metrics.
  • Monitor and analyze financial and operational trends, providing actionable insights and recommendations to business leadership.
  • Track and report pricing and profitability initiatives from approval through implementation and realized financial impact.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of Commercial Finance processes, reporting capabilities, and analytical tools.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across global Commercial, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Technology teams.
  • Support system implementations, reporting enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and support special projects as requested by senior leadership.
  • Limited travel may occasionally be required (

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, or another quantitative discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Commercial Finance, Pricing, FP&A, Corporate Strategy, Revenue Management, Business Analytics, Consulting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting pricing decisions, profitability analysis, financial modeling, or commercial decision-making.
  • Experience working with enterprise reporting, planning, and analytics platforms preferred.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This is a remote position in the US. We are open to candidates in various states, with the exception of those residing in the following: AK, DC, ME, NH, NM, OK, HI, MS, MT, NV, NE, ND, SD, VT, WY, WV

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $90,000 USD - $100,00 USD annually. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate's location, experience, and other job-related factors.
