OverviewAvison Young is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Capital Markets and Net Lease team in the SE. This role offers the opportunity to support a growing, high-volume investment sales platform advising clients on investment sales, debt, and equity transactions nationwide. The analyst will play a key role in underwriting and executing transactions, preparing sophisticated financial analyses and offering memorandums, and supporting client advisory efforts across a diverse range of asset types. The ideal candidate brings strong commercial real estate finance and analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare Broker Opinions of Value (BOVs), offering memorandums (OMs), pitch materials, and other client-facing deliverables by integrating market research, financial analysis, and compelling investment narratives.
- Build and maintain sophisticated institutional-quality financial models using ARGUS and Excel, including cash flow projections, debt and equity structures, investor waterfall models, portfolio underwriting, and sensitivity analyses.
- Analyze investment fundamentals, including tenant credit, lease rollover exposure, trade area performance, merchandising strategy, consumer demand trends, and market dynamics to support underwriting and investment recommendations.
- Support the execution of single-asset, portfolio, and structured transactions across investment sales, debt, and equity mandates, ranging from single-tenant net lease assets to institutional-quality assets, mixed-use developments, and large-scale portfolios.
- Coordinate and evaluate due diligence materials, including leases, rent rolls, operating statements, appraisals, and other transaction-related documentation to support underwriting, marketing, and transaction execution.
- Partner with brokerage, market intelligence, and marketing professionals to leverage market data, location analytics, and proprietary insights in support of client advisory and transaction strategies.
- Assist in all phases of transaction execution, including investor communications, bid analysis, due diligence coordination, marketing activities, closing processes, and stakeholder reporting.
- Present analytical findings and investment recommendations to senior producers, clients, and investors in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
- Utilize industry-leading research and analytics platforms, including ARGUS, Excel, CoStar, Placer.ai, and similar technologies; experience with Power BI and AI-enabled tools is preferred.
- Support new business development initiatives, special projects, and other strategic assignments as needed.
Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, real estate, economics, accounting, or a related field.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, investment sales, capital markets, valuation, or a related discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex qualitative and quantitative information into clear, concise narratives and client-facing presentations.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced understanding of commercial real estate fundamentals, including lease structures, underwriting, valuation methodologies, and due diligence process. Preferred understanding of retail real estate including tenant
- Strong Microsoft Excel and ARGUS underwriting capabilities with demonstrated experience building complex financial models and conducting investment analyses.
- Experience utilizing real estate research and analytics platforms such as CoStar, Placer.ai, and similar tools; familiarity with Power BI, AI-enabled platforms, and data visualization tools is a plus.
