YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Director, Financial Performance and Measurement, the Senior Analyst, Finance Systems plays a key role in supporting finance teams across all operating regions to deliver high-quality, reliable results. This is achieved by serving as a subject matter expert in financial systems and associated business processes, and by driving the effective use of Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) applications.

The role works collaboratively with Finance, Information Technology, and various business units to support the use of finance technology and support the successful delivery of system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function. The incumbent contributes to strengthening finance capabilities through the effective alignment of technology, processes, and business requirements.

The Senior Analyst, Finance Systems is responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and optimal performance of EPM applications by providing proactive user support and training to a global user base of over 300 stakeholders. This position encompasses a balanced mix of responsibilities, including financial analysis, systems and process design, application development, and business process improvement, with an equal focus on maintaining and supporting existing systems as well as contributing to finance transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent support for complex technical issues related to EPM and other related applications encountered by end users, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose root causes, implement effective solutions, and ensure timely resolution while minimizing disruption to business operations.


  • Design, develop, and enhance planning models (including budgeting and forecasting solutions) as well as financial and management reports within EPM and related systems, collaborating closely with product owners, external resources and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with business requirements, accuracy of outputs, and scalability for future needs.


  • Proactively engage with cross-functional teams to review and assess current business processes, identify inefficiencies or gaps, and translate evolving business requirements into practical, value-driven system enhancements and process improvements that align with organizational objectives.


  • Communicate key design decisions and strategic recommendations clearly and effectively to product owners, senior stakeholders, and business partners, ensuring transparency, alignment, and informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.


  • Lead and coordinate technical unit testing and quality assurance (QA) activities, ensuring that solutions meet defined requirements, adhere to best practices, and maintain high standards of accuracy, reliability, and system performance prior to deployment.


  • Coordinate the execution of approved projects and initiatives, overseeing timelines, dependencies, and deliverables, and actively contributing to both the design and implementation phases to ensure solutions are delivered efficiently and meet business expectations.


  • Build and maintain strong cross-enterprise relationships, fostering effective communication and collaboration with regional finance teams and other stakeholders to support adoption, ensure consistency, and uphold a high-quality user experience across all EPM applications.


  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs and materials for both new and existing users, empowering them to enhance their capabilities in financial and data analysis within EPM systems, while promoting best practices and continuous improvement in system utilization.


  • Manage and prioritize multiple initiatives, balancing competing demands while ensuring deliverables are provided on time and within scope.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Tech savvy self-starter with the ability to take initiative, prioritize effectively, and drive tasks to completion in alignment with team and organizational objectives.


  • Broad familiarity with financial systems and enterprise applications is required.


  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, with exposure to financial systems such as HFM, Hyperion Planning, Essbase, FDMEE, OneStream, or Anaplan considered is a strong asset.


  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools is an asset.


  • Familiarity with programming languages, business intelligence (BI) tools, and database technologies/modeling is preferred.


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.


  • Solid understanding of financial statements and data, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.


  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively to resolve issues.


  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.


  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality client service.


  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 20% annually, including to remote or rural locations within Quebec and Ontario.


  • Professional designation such as CPA or FP&A certification is considered an asset.


  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
